haha.. my son has 15 teeth..lol and molara and everything! i was scared two but there isnt a set on how manyy teeth they r suppose to have so im guessing its ok?

Our oldest had all teeth except for his one-year molars well before he was one, and he didn't see the dentist for the first time until he was 3. Our youngest now has 6 teeth, and we will do the same. I talked to our dentist about it, and many dentists won't take children that young, so you are lucky that you have one that does. Ours will, but they said there is no point in trying to work with a child that doesn't understand why you are trying to get into their mouth. In addition, at their age, they shouldn't be consuming anything but healthier foods (except for maybe a treat here or there) so there really shouldn't be a reason to think that their teeth would be rotting.

My son was born on 3-13-10, he has 6 teeth. Two on the bottom and four on the top. I'm a first time mom. I wasn't sure if you could take a baby that young to the dentist. I'm going to call and make a appt. for him to get his cleaned. I agree with you prevention is the key. I know alot of people who have young kids with rotten teeth. I don't want that for my baby.

My son born March 20th has 6 teeth. 2 on the bottom, 4 on the top. Haven't brought him to the dentist yet, cause I don't see any problems right now - if I did I would. WIll probably bring him for his first cleaning when he's 3, when he can actually understand what is happening and sit a bit more still.

My daughter was born on march 29 2010 and she only has 3 teeth one on top and 2 on the bottom. I haven taken her to the dentist yet but I brush her teeth and mouth everyday with baby oragel toothpaste with a little teeth and gum finger scrubber thing. she seems to like it cuz it tastes like berry. it is safe for babies 4 months and up.

My son was born March 4 and he has 6 teeth. (2 on bottom, 4 on top.) No dentist yet, but we have one of those little finger brushes and baby toothpaste that I use in the mornings and before bed.

I just want to let everyone know once again what I said earlier in case you didn't see.

It is everyone's own decision on when their child goes to the dentist but I was told that taking them early can do nothing but HELP!!

My dentist said that babies who are 3,4,5 years old and have never been to the dentist come in and have to be put to sleep for cavities because they have so many!!

Also taking them to the dentist early gets them used to the idea of going.

my Daughter who was also born 3/31/10 has 4 teeth on top and 2 on the bottom. so 6 teeth. we have not been to the dentist yet. and probably wont go for a while yet.

My little man was born 2nd march so hes just 11 months old hes got 9 teeth and more coming through! and no i havent taken him to the dentist and im ot planning on it for some time yet he wouldnt sit there hes taken his first steps just yesterday so it would be a nightmare he has a baby tooth brush that he uses!

My baby was born on 3-24-2010 and she also has 8 teeth. I haven't taken her to the dentist yet and her doc said it wasn't necessary just yet. But, he was shocked that she had so many already. It is amazing. She is also completely on table food. She won't let me feed her any more so she eats dinner with us! She loves it! She is also walking. She just started that in the last week! She's growing so fast!

My daughter only has two teeth on the bottom, and got those at 7 months.
No, she has not been to the dentist. Our dentist stated we didn't need to do that to age 3. We took our oldest at that age and it was not pretty.

My little one turned 11 months today, and we have a record 2 teeth and they are on the bottom. I have a friend who's baby was born 3 days after and she is a cleft baby, she has (6) teeth!!

My son is 10 months (march 26) and he has 6 teeth. He got his first one the week before Christmas and the rest all within the last 2 weeks. Not sure why we would be worried about a dentist already?! My first is almost 3 and my dentist said not to bring him until he's 4...he does brush his teeth though with non-floride toothpaste,

My son was born 3-04-10 and has 8 teeth too! I haven´t visit the dentist yet but I´m going to brush his teeth though ´cause for me is not time yet to take him and the Doctor tells me that too, is very soon, but its ok if somebody does that, I`m thinking that when he has one year old I`ll take him to visit the dentist! Everyone is so funny. My daughter was born on 3-31 and guess what. No teeth!! Not one! My other daughter is 2 years old and she got her first two teeth at about 8 months. She now has 16 teeth but the dentist said there is no reason to bring them in until they are three if you are brushing regularly and they arent drinking lots of sugary things. Every child is different and so is every dentist!

I think my son was a little fast in that department...he cut all of his teeth between 6-12 months for a total of 16 TEETH! He even has his 2 sets of molars....he just cut his teeth four at a time...now my little girl is like what everyone else seems to be doing, although with my son I think it was easier getting them all over and done with in one shot...hell for 6 months though!! LOL!

Danielle, OUCH! I have never (knocking on wood) been bitten yet, But both my kids that i breastfed got their teeth late and i remembered reading or hearing that somewhere who knows where. I'll just thank God for small blessings like that! :)

My little guy (3-29-10) has 6 teeth, three on the top and three on the bottom and I it looks like there are two more on the way. I haven't taken him to the dentist yet, but I do brush his teeth with a finger brush and non-flouride baby toothpaste every day, usually twice when I brush my own.

My Grace (born 3.21.10) has two on bottom so far - came in right before xmas ;) We suspect the uppers are not far behind, but no sight of them yet. I asked the pediatrician at her 9 month appt if we should take her to the dentist ( I had read you should take them once they get teeth and no later than one year) They didn't seem to think it was necessary and said if we took her to a dentist at this point, they'd just say "ok, nice teeth." My mom seems to think I'm nuts for worrying about her teeth already, but I've heard so many horror stories of babies needing caps, etc on their baby teeth :(

My Evie (31/3/10) only has 2 on bottom... serious teething symptoms but the arrival of the top ones is dragging!.. I was encouraged to take her to the dentists when i had an appointment even though she hadnt got any teeth at the time..as it helps them build confidence in going ... I brush all around her mouth to get her used to the routine too..which she laughs at every time.. :-)

My son was born on March 3rd he has six teeth. Four on top two on bottom and working on four more. Two top and two bottom. Have not been to the dentist yet but he loves brushing his teeth. We brush them twice a day! He has always loved his toothbrush and watching my husband and I brush are teeth.

Adah Marie was born March 17th 2010 and only has 2 bottom teeth! This seems abnormal to me because my son, now 4 when he was 10 months had 4! I wouldn't worry about it though.

My daughter was 10 months on the 18th and she has 8 teeth working on the 9th one now. I have realized all babies really are different because my oldest daughter at 10 months only had 2 teeth! LOL! But I havent taken the 10 month old to the dentist yet just because I am waiting until she turns a year old. Thats when I took my oldest and she loved it at that age!

My little man, Liam,was born on March 5, 2010. He has 4 on top and 2 on the bottom. He is currently getting another one bottom center and his 2 bottom 12 mo molars. We have not been to the dentist yet.

Just a question for all of you whose babies have few teeth or none, do you breastfeed at all? I had heard once that breastfed babies sometimes get their teeth later sort of a bonus for us mommies who dont want to get bit! lol. My son was born 3-10-10 and has only 2 teeth on bottom.
