My baby only poo once every 7-10 days. Brought him to the doc who gave him an anal suppository the last time he did not remove his bowels for 10 days. When he finally did , the poo was not hard and so the doc said it is not constipation. This time round, he has removed his bowels for 7 days and the doc gave him lactulose to aid in his bowel movements. But he has not responded to the medication after 2 days. I do not want such a young kid to be dependent on medication or suppository each time he need to poo. I have avoided giving him food (Bananas, Rice Cereal, Apple Sauce and Toast) that will cause hard stools and only fed him fruit and vegetable purree together with Breast milk. Even did tummy massage to help get rid of the wind. Has anyone encountered this and can advise better?
