Hi, i'm 38 weeks 5 days pregnant and really am so ready to have this baby! I'm still not dialated but my cervix is pretty soft. I'm constantly crampy and nauseaous and am just ready to be done!

Any ideas on getting the ball rolling or at least a way to start dialating at all?
I've heard sex helps as well as walking and such, but i've tried it all adn am still not dialated. I have an appt on Monday and will be due next friday. If i dont have my baby by next friday march 26, my doc will schedule an induction. ...

The nurse at the hospital told us to try spicy foods, so I had a curry for lunch. Then a sundae that evening and my contractions changed and we went to the hospital and no change, they kept me and had me walk the halls. That day I read that if you squat that will help bring on labor. So as we walked, I would stop and do some squats, then walk some more, that help me dilate more. They were finally able to induce me after I reached 4 cm. I was so happy when they did that, since I was having mild contractions on and off for 2 months. Good Luck!

My lamaze teacher told us about a couple of pressure points that are supposed to help you go into labor when you apply pressure to them the first is the webbing between your thumb and first finger and the other is your achilles tendon. I'm 38 weeks and 5 days and I've had no luck with these yet but we are all different.

raspberry leaf tea! or fresh pineapple but ya have to eat about 7 full ones for it to take effect, hot curries, SEX always best choice n castor oil with orange juice but you'll have to get someone else to get it for you and you can only get it from chemists get them to tell them its for the nourishment of your hair! only thing is with the castor oil you will end up with gut rot direarrea or constipation cant remember which but it worked all them years ago when my mum had me so im assuming it works lol also try a gym ball sit n bounce on it for quite awhile! that worked for my sister! hope all goes well for you .xx

i tried some of the accupressure points, didnt feel anything. I did notice whenever i walk a lot i start getting a lot of contractions... going crazy! the accupuncture and acupressure do seem like they make them a littl emore consistant but never bad enough where i'm doubling over or anything..

i was exactly 38 weeks 5 days when i induced myself & i did it with the acupressure. The one on your ankle. i did that & walked inbetween doing the pressure point & my contractions became consistent. I started w/ no dialation or effacement but by that night i was 3-4cm, 75% efface. Look it up on bing.com It might work for you =)

I know exactly how you feel, I am at the point in my pregnancy were I am ready to be done. I had a friend suggest to me that a yoga ball helps. She sat on one for an hour and rolled her hips the whole time, that night she went into labor. I hope this helps you..

I believe you can get the capsules at a health food store or particular chemists. Here in Australia anyway. Maybe try an online store if you can't get it locally. May be no use by the time you get it though. When are you due?

Im hearing you. My first son was born 5 weeks early so I have been expecting no. 2 to drop any time. I now only have 13 days to go til my due date and have been ready to have him for weeks. I have tried castor oil, sex, oral sex (apparently swallowing works better going through the gut - not sure how) lots of walking, rasperry leaf tea, and still nothing works. Apparently the rasperry tea leaf capsules are stronger but haven't tried them yet, just had the tea. And the castor oil just cleaned me out, but nothing else.
Hope something works for you, but these are all suggestions that have been offered to me.

Okay this may be too much info but it worked for me. My fiancee and I were told to have sex and go for a long walk. So we went home and the next night we had sex. Nothing. So we had sex again the next night nothing. I called my friend and she said try rough sex. I thought yea right but tried it anyway. Again nothing. So then we went to mall of america and walked and walked and walked. I walked through the pain and just kept going. The next morning I was in labor. Good luck!!!
