Hi does anyone else seem to be getting alot of Kidney/bladder infections after their pregnancies? I have a 2 since my son was born 9 1/2 wks ago and one when I was about 7 months pregnant with him. I am also 32yrs old and have only had one bladder infection 12 yrs ago so just wondering if anyone else has the same problem and what they have been told causes it as my doctor is very vague on telling his patients everything.

Thanks Sheila, I always drink cranberry juice when I get them and drink a ton of water as a 5 gallon jug of water doesn't last longer than 2 weeks in my house from the amount I drink and the kids drink. I have 2 kids, my daughter is 2 on monday and my son is 10 wks old. We don't use condoms as birth control and the birth control pill I am on is the same one I was on before so I don't think that is why.

I have not had an increase in bladder infections, however I had a TON in college. What I attributed it to was condoms. I don't know if it was the latex, or the lubricant that was used. If you have started using condoms again as birth control, be extra careful about positions, and making sure that you go pee right after to get rid of any bacteria that might be lingering. Also, drink lots of cranberry juice and water, that helps to keep them away. Stay away from soda. I'm sorry you are getting them, I know how miserable they are. :(
