My baby thinks he's a puppy!!

Carl's birthday is 3/25, so he's not quite 8 months old. He and my papillon dog, Bailey, are the best of buddies. However, since Carl is the only kiddo in our house, I'm afraid he is picking up some puppy skills!! He likes to make panting noises like Bailey and then laughs hysterically after he does it. He will also put a toy in his mouth and crawl around with it. I'm not really worried about it - actually, I find it pretty funny. I'm sure it's something he will grow out of. I figure, at least he doesn't bring the toys to me to play fetch! Anyway, I guess my question is, do any of you also have kiddos who are mimicking your pets?

our daughter loves our dog, more than he loves her, she doesn't mimic him..yet but if she did I would just consider it part of play just like when they mimic us, its just part of learning

my little sister used to mimic the cat when she was a baby. when she got old enough she just wanted to dress like a cat all the time. she wore a tail until she started school. true story.
she's 18 and completely normal now.

My daughter was born on 3/19, and when gets really excited she will also pant like a dog. Everything goes in her mouth too. She is just learning to "crawl" crawl, she has been doing an "Army" crawl for the last few months. We don't have a dog but we do have a 2 year old :) and 2 cats.

My daughter was born 3-26 & we have 2 boxers & 2 cats (ones still a kitten) Evelyns our only child so she chases them around the house, baby talks to them, climbs all over them etc. Her & the kitten are bestfriends lol i noticed a couple of weeks ago that she licks her hand & rubs her face like the cats do when their cleaning themselves. . . i'm honestly not too worried about it

My dog doesn't live with me. Ethan was born March 24th & doesn't know what to think of dogs. We have my cats though & he pulls pretty rough on the female & one of the males, and the other sassy male cat their seriously buddy buddy. Leo goes up and plops in front of him & Ethan is so good with him. As far as mimicking, if I cough, he fakes it, if I blow raspberries, he does it too.. I don't find Carl weird. He's having fun. :)

Adrianna, I LOVE your profile picture!! I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one. Carl was lying on the floor looking at a book this morning and Bailey (the dog) was right there next to him. Carl was making his babble talk the whole time. I think he was reading the book to Bailey. ;-)

Allison was born on 3/25 to! We have a husky pup and Allison copies some of the things the puppy does to, she thinks its so funny when the puppy barks, then she makes a loud funny noise (I'm assuming trying to bark) then laughs again. She doesnt carry around her toys in her mouth tho.

Ha my nephew was like that ...he mimcked the dogs for years..he wasnt weird just cute though!
