My son just turned 10 months and i would like for him to be off the bottle at age 1. I give him water in a sippy cup in between meals and he handles it ok. What else can I do, or what have other mothers done?
Also... moving on to whole milk (yes, i know wait until 1 or ask Dr.) what strategies have other mothers done for this? I am guessing that if he is easily taking formula from a cup than milk will not be much of an issue.
Any advice is helpful as i am not real sure what else to do other than trial and error.
Thanks!

Thanks Becky! Can you (or anyone else) also tell me if i should then be giving him his formula/milk before or after solid food feedings?

i have been the head infant teacher at a private school for 5 years.... what i have done with all my youngsters getting ready to enter their 1 yr class is start slow... definately try with water and juice first, also, around 11 months, start putting formula feedings in the cups (and give bottles if you need)
i put cold formula (or breastmilk) in their cups... start with it warm formula first, and as LO gets used to drinking from cup, just start making it cooler until LO can handle it cold.. that'll help LO get used to having cold cow's milk... it's worked for me at least
