Does anyone know anything about pre-eclampsia? This is my 3rd pregnancy and I never had any problems with my other 2, but I`ve had blood & other samples taken for testing due to having nearly all the symptoms! I`m too impatient to wait for the results of the tests so am trying to find out as much as I can. How serious is this? Has anyone else ever had it? What can I do about it? HELP!!!

It can also lead to HELLP syndrome, some cases are minor tho and worrying will NOT help. Take care and let us know how you get on

I t can be very serious, in my case I had High BP, severe edema, headaches, ect. if left untreated it may develop into Eclampsia which can cause can cause seizures and even death. the only cure is to have the baby.

I will be very honest with you, pre-eclampsia is very serious it can lead to other life-threatening illnesses within pregnancy like HELLP syndrome and eclampsia. The tell tale symptoms are upper right abdomen pain (although the pain can be anywhere), right shoulder pain, adema (swelling of hand or feet, sometimes face), blurred or temporary loss of vision and severe constant headaches that feels like a really bad migraine. I had pre-eclampsia with my first that developed into HELLP syndrome because I was mis-diagnosed. The only thing you can really do is wait for your results as the blood tests is the only real chance you have of knowing if you have pre-eclampsia or not also your BP has to be really, really high and +++ protein in your urine before anything is actually done, I know this at first hand. I could have died, like I say not to worry but I'm just telling you how it is when I was diagnosed as I was rushed straight to hospital because I had a severe case of it. However, on the up side I delivered within 2 days and some women only have to be put on bed rest because it is only a minor case. I hope you don't have it and if you do that it isn't as severe as when I had it. Take care and good luck, keep us posted. If you need any more details then message me and if you are really worried than go straight to your hopsital for peace of mind.
