pulling self up to stand at what age?

every child does things at different ages. My hs bf's neice started walking at 9 months! I think it's great she is doing it... and it doesn;t necessarily mean she'll be walking soon... it could be months yet, but it might not!

I thought the same thing. My daughter (7 months and 5 days) just did it for the first time today. I was shocked to see her standing in her crib! She was crying, but I still had to run and get the camera to take both video and a picture.

My daughter will be 8 months in a few days and she did the same thing...she started crawling on all fours and almost immediately started pulling herself up to standing (on anything she could!) So I think some kids just start earlier than others.

this is pretty early but not unheard of my mum remembers her neighbours baby running and climbing fences at 8 months, imagine that haha!! My son is eight months and has stood really well since he was 6 months against the couch, but he doesnt pull himself up to do this, id say your little girl is just a strong little thing and keen to get on the move!

My boy is 7.5 months and can get on all 4s and tries to pull himself up but he weighs over 28lbs so is a hard feat - lol!

My little guy who is 7 months old just pulled himself up without my help for the first time today. I figure when he's ready he'll move on to whatever is the next step for him.

It's young, but nothin' wrong with that! My son is doing NONE of the above and I know he's ok too! Your child knows, they don't do anything until they are good and ready! This is my 4th child and none of them were crawling this early, in fact, my 3rd was crawling before he rolled over, go figure!!!

My 7 month old does that too! She crawled one week and the next she was pulling herself up! Now, when I go get her in the morning, she is standing holding the rails of her crib! I don't think its too early. I think she sets her own pace. I wouldn't force her, but if she wants to then why hold her back?

my daughter was 10 months when she started crawling and 2 and a half when she started walking. my son is 7months and been crawling for a few weeks. they just do this stuff when they are good and ready, dont be worried what people say there is no too early they just develop when and how they want to :) enjoy the short time before your daughter starts walking as she'l be into everything once shes figured it out :) x

Lachlan is 7 months and one week and isn't really all that interested in moving. He started rolling completely over on to his tummy from his back (had been rolling on to his side for awhile otherwise) a few weeks ago and inches himself slowly across the floor if he's on his back. He can sit but will still fall sometimes. But everything else he's not showing any signs of wanting to do - standing, crawling, pulling himself up.

I often feel like he's behind but I'm not really too bothered overall.

It is not too early!!! If that is what she is doing it is because she is ready and comfortable doing so. My isabel is doing the same thing and ive talked to multiple dr friends and they all say the same thing that I told you above. So be happy and excited and get ready because walking may not be super far behind!!! :-)

Lol TAylor that back scoot would be funny to watch I thought it was funny mine rolled like a caterpillar to get around. and I wonder if it makes him dizzy lol but sometimes when I stand him he can stand on his own for a little while so I wonder if he will ski the crawling alltogether thank you for your comment

@giggles - i wouldn't worry about it unless your doctor seems concerned. my sister NEVER crawled.. she did the rolling thing to get around until she figured out how to pull up/walk. even funnier is that my cousins baby never crawled, but he scooted around on his back then would roll over to see where he was in relation to where he wanted to be then roll back to his back and scoot there. both of them turned out completely normal.

My daughter did the same thing!!! She started pulling up at 5mo and she is almost 8mo now!!! My son didnt start standing until he was almost 13mo so every child is different in their progress!!!

My baby is almost 8 months and sits up but hasnt started crawling he rolls around from belly to back and can stand for a couple sec. should I be worried he is not crawling yet or even getting up on all fours. he just rolls to travel around the house why is he not crawling though

My daughter was born 3/27 and she hasn't started crawling yet. She gets on all four and rocks herself front and back. And she just started sitting up by herself also. But she has already started pulling herself up.

my daughter will be 8 months on thursday (yeah yeah not really march baby, but more so than most other feb babies!). she started army crawling/getting up on hands and knees at 6 months, pulling up to stand at 6.5 months. at 8 months she is now skilled at proper crawling, sitting on her own (and sitting from laying down or crawling position), pulling up to stand, and getting herself safely back to the floor from standing.

every baby is different. My Lo is 6 months old.. born march 30. He started crawling 10-9 and pulled up to stand on 10-10. Now he is cruising around furniture, and can also stand on his own without holding onto anything for about 30 seconds. He loves using those walking toys that he pushes around so he can walk

My daughter is also seven months. She just started crawling about two weeks ago. And is pulling up and standing for long periods of time. My oldest did the same thing. She was walking by probably 9 or 10 months. Dont worry about the other ppl that say she is to young. It wont hurt her. Just as you baby knows when she is full, she knows when she is ready to develop other skills.

My LO is in the same boat as everyone elses here... however the standing alone w/o assistance.. he's done that a couple of times... he lets go of what he is holding and turns around... then he get happy and lunges...lol... but it does vary.... he's getting closer to walking now :( - oh and yes it is early... but nothings wrong with that... its just "time" for your LO... and it might not be "time" for another

Well, based on my baby, rolling over started at 4 months, sitting up starts at 5.5 months, crawling starts a little after 6 months, and she has been standing for easily 5 weeks now.

Every child is different. My daughter is 6 months and she is crawling all over the house not to mention she is pulling to stand before she started to crawl. It all depends on the child. She will know when to do these milestones on her own time.
