I know Jadore just turned 1......but at the same time his #2's are getting mighty strong and needed to be bagged and just like a toddler did it. He is the average size of a 2-3 year old but of course, like our Dr says don't forget he's just a baby! But I would like some info from moms to know about what age you started?

my first baby judy used to set on potty sice she was 6 months old and by the time she turned 1 yr she when she wanted to pee she used to point to the toilet as she was not able to talk yet .. so u can start from now it is ok, but when i gave birth to the second baby she got jealous of her when she saw me changing dipers so she stopped the potty and refused it and now she is 2 yrs and still no potty for her but i will take off the dipper and teach her the toilet potty.

I started potty training at 13 months i think every mum knows when its the right time for their child, if you feel now is the time then try it out its all trial and error. Even if he doesn't like it now at least he knows what the potty is used for. Good luck.

I am like Monique: bought the potty very early (4 months) as my daughter showed very clear signs of having to poop. She took to it very well at first, and we had sounds we would make while she was doing it (grunting sound for poop, pssss sound for pee). Now when I get the feeling she has to go, I take her to the toilet (we now have the toilet bowl insert), make the sounds and she goes. It hasn't worked consistently for the last 8 months, but for the last 2 or 3 we have caught over 95% of her poos. If you don't want to change dirty diapers, it takes some patience and persistence, but it can work! It definitely helps if your son has clear signs he's going to go. My daughter never poops when we're out of the house, and so far (in 2 weeks) has never pooped at daycare, she always waits for the potty in the morning and/or evening. It's pretty cool stuff!!! You can read the book "Diaper-Free Baby" after checking out the website for more detailed information. Good luck!!!

I started potty training right after her first birthday, she started off by being super afraid of being on the potty but now she sits on it and plays and has even pooed once and peed 4 times now! I don't think 1 year is to oyoung for potty training at all! I'm with everyone else that I am so tired of changing diapers! she has started to talk and she walks so now I am just trying to get her to be able to communicate that she has to go before i see her standing in a corner grunting haha. good luck!

♥See that's what I wanna know....and you know what??? I honestly don't think it's a bad idea. We are gonna go potty shopping this weekend. Not pushing him to do anything but at the same time maybe just let him get the idea of it??? I'm ready cause his milestones are right on track as well, I'm tired of changing diapers lol and I feel like it's okay as long as your not pressuring him or expecting miracles!!! But you never know!!!♥

It's is so good to hear this!!! My son turned 1 on St. Patrick's Day, and he was 8 weeks early. He is on track with all of the milestones so far. I really wanted to buy a potty & just kind let him see it & figure it out. My friend has a baby about 7 months older then my son & they haven't even thought about it yet. Does anyone think just showing him & teaching him what it is would put to much pressure on him?

you can "potty train" anytime you want really it just depends on how dedicated you are at 1) giving your lil one potty time and 2) keeping track on when they have to go (what their patterns are). I started putting my daughter on the potty when she was 4 months old, now I can put her on the potty at anytime and she will pee or poop without any fuss. Check out this website for more information on infant potty training:

♥Wow!! That's amazing and very smart of you guys!! I wanted to start him off early but everybody encouraged me not to. But I feel like now is a good time! He sees his daddy go to the potty and sometimes when he goes 2 he goes to the closed bathroom door and sits in front of it (just caught him doing that). So I think he's ready but I didn't want to push it. Kudos to you guys!!! I'll have to remember that when I have my little girl!!! They say girls are much easier than boys with this situation too, but I'm going for it!! I feel it's the right time and I think he does too!!!♥

my lil one has been sat on the potty since she could crawl at about 6months n we just sat her on it then step by step we got her to sit on it without a nappy then we would put baby in it and poor some water in then make a big fuss that the doll did a wee. final she got the idea and arond twice a day she uses the potty even if she might miss it by a few seconds we still sit her on so she knows lol she is now 1 and is on the potty a lot more offten

Thank you so much for the response!! I was thinking the same thing. His birthday just passed and I was going to buy him a potty chair. Not pushing it at all. But doing it slowly just like you said. When I talked to couple of my friends they told me I was rushing it was crazy. We let him watch daddy when he does it so he looks and kinda wonders about the whole concept. I am so grateful for circle of moms because I can ask questions like this and not got condemned for my thoughts or my wants. Thank you so much for responding and appreciate the feedback! Luck be good with your son as well and a happy early birthday!!! Doesn't it go by to quickly??? Have a great one!!!!♥

I'm going to buy my son a potty for his birthday (march 30).. i'll just sit him on it and help him learn about it over the summer though.. when he's around 18 months i'll start full out potty training. It all depends on the baby. If he is able to hold his urine during naps..and wakes from naps and bedtime usually dry... and goes potty around the same time every day then he should be good to potty train! My friend has a baby a few weeks older than my son and she has been going potty in her potty twice a day for 2 months now... it is possible. but you don't want to rush it because it could make the whole process longer.
