What Sippy Cup?

To Kelsey Quinn. The soft spout nipples that you are referring to are they the ones that are made from the ones that are made from the same soft plastic just like a bottle nipple? I have been trying those for at least a month and she likes them. The only down fall is that it lookes lke she chewed too much on it that the whole is bigger. I have also been looking to replace that nipple. Thanks!

we started wtih the nuby soft tip ones. They are similar to a bottle but bigger tip so it is a good transition. Once they get a handle on it, you will know because they will start just chewing on it. Then it is a good time to switch to a more firm tip (gerber has some good ones) and then to the hard ones.

Uggghh I have spent a fortune trying to find the best sippy cup! My son likes the thin, harder mouth piece...but the two I have tried leak like crazy! The softer nipples dont flow fast enough for him...but it is a good starting point..the nuck ones worked best in the begining with my son!

After about 4 different types of sippy cups my son finally took to the Gerber brand with a soft spout and side handles. My daughter didn't like these ones, she just chewed on it. She did well with the NUK brand. I didn't like the Nubby cups because it leaked too much even though it was a "no leak" cup.

the anyway up cups are the best i've used but i'm having trouble finding them in the shops at the mo so i have been using the avent cups as they are no spill. and my twin boys love them because they love holding the handles and doing it them selves XX

My daughter is 10 1/2 months now and she is on sippy all the time except the first feeding of the day she gets a bottle that her dad feeds her. He works a closing shift so that is their special time together and i hate to take that away. Anyways, she never held her own bottle and we started out with tommy tippee and the spout was too hard for her, she could not get anything out. We got the Nuk cup ( or was it nuby?) because of the soft spout and she could drink out of it but she had a hard time getting it in her mouth right because she was always fighting with the handles that move, oh, wait she had bok nuk and nuby. One was hard to line up the spout so it was not over the handle and the other had handles that moved. We got rid of both in favor of the munchkin cups. The handles dont move and you dont have to screw it on just right. She can drink out of the soft spout and does really well with them. Every kid is different but i recommend whichecer cup your little one is most comfortable with and that is the least headach for you!

ambr what i did with my son is i gave him a cup only a lunch time then when he got used to tht i just completly stopped giving him a bottle and he has been drinking frm a cup since he was 6 months old i think i did what was right for my son bc he is pretty much a laid back bby but every child is different

My son is pretty easy he will take what ever you give him. Its my daughter I am having problems with. She is almost two and still wont take a sippy cup all the time. With her we have tried almost every sippy cop out there and none of them worked except the take and toss ones. You can pretty much buy them anywhere. She will also take anything with a straw.As long as there is no milk in it.

My twins also love the NUK brand, although, for me the cups are rather difficult to fine and a bit pricey, $6.99 and only hold 5 ounces, but it is a start to get them off of bottles. They get 3 cups a day and a bottle at night.

My 10 month old has been using a soft tipped Nuby sippy for a little over a month now. That is what I started all three of my boys on. The soft tip makes the transition easier, I think.

I've been using a sippy cup off and on for a few months, My son Mason is almost 10 months. He's been wanting to use a regular cup. He likes to use the sippy somewhat.

my daughter hated the playtex one too! She likes any that have the soft sippy spout. Nuby brand is one she really likes and the avent one as well

when my son was 6 months i tried the gerber ones but he mainly played with them so i switched to the munchkin with the soft top like 5 bucks for 2 of them and after i gave him one cup of milk in it he wouldnt drink from his bottle anymore so i used them for a couple of weeks and then i bought him a different one with the soft top and now he he is 9 months old and he will drink out of any kind of cup even our cups good luck with ur jouney because there are thousands of sippy cups out there and the best thing to do is follow ur babies lead and when they are ready u will see the sighns

I say keep trying the bottle..it is more like the breast then once they get used to that try a sippy cup!

My son will be 10 months on sunday and we have been using a sippy since he was about six months. We mainly use it for water (which he loves), we have tried milk several times but he doesn't like. We have found the Nuby ones work best for us since it's soft like a bottle nipple

I am in the same boat as you. My daughter Is almost 10 months old, and I am trying to get her off the bottle and on to the Sippy but its a no go. Have you tried juice in the sippy?

my son tried about 4 different types before i found that the cheap little take and toss cups work best for him. they, unfortunately, aren't spill proof, but he can get the water out more easily, and i dont mind the mess, it's just water (and he usually wears a bib 24/7 anyway since he is teething like crazy and is basically a drool machine) i also found that if the water is too cold, he wont drink it.
he drinks his formula from bottles still, i haven't tried to wean him off of those yet, not until he gets better at the sippy cup.

I started my daughter on a cup at 7 months so I wouldn't have the fight. I gave her one bottle at night, and after a week took that one bottle away. I use Nuby cups, because they are shapped like a bottle and a bit easier for her to hold.. Good Luck

My little boiy likes the tommee Tippee ones and they have a silicone teat not so messy as the stuff only comes out when they suck or bite

go with the gerber NUK sippy's they are interchangable with all the sippy tops and cups so you can use a soft top on a bigger cup or a hard top on a smaller cup. i have a 21 month old and a 9 month and this is the cup they use all the time. we also have the tommy's but none of the kids like them. the stoppers plug and leak something feirce

I tried Gerber ones at first, but he only chews on it. I just bought some Nuby ones to try (soft top). He actually seems to take the take and toss ones pretty well, but after he throws the cup on the floor a couple of times the top pops off spilling the water everywhere.

My daughter is mainly breastfed but will take water from a cup without a plug in it. The best ones I have foubd so far are the Tommy Tippie stage 1 she loves them! They are a little on the pricier side but babies r us seem to have them on sale alot! Good luck!

I found that it is just trial and error for finding the right sippy cup. Keep trying with the same one though for at least a week before trying something different. The sippy cup my son finally liked my daughter doesn't.

My daughter loves the munchkin sippy cups, I originially tried the playtex "first sipster" and she hated it, i think because the tip was so hard. She has 2 formula feedings a day with her sippy & 2 bottles, shes used a sippy since she was about 6 months old
