This is my 4th and he dropped about a week or so ago I noticed like the other ladies say because i could breathe easier, but alot more pelvic pressure so much so that it hurts alot! I am
37 1/2 weeks and when i went to the doc today he said he was touching his head when he was checking me.But I was only 3 cm, and 50% effaced.

With my daughter she never did drop. She sat somewhat low for the typical possition most girls sit in your belly. Everyone thought I was having a boy. I got about 20 new stretch marks from giving birth to her because the only time she dropped was when I was about 5cm dialated. So it was a really fast drop and I guess stretched everything out too quick. With my son he dropped the day I went into labour.

With my 1st son, he dropped around week 38. With this pregnancy she dropped at 34 weeks. When they drop, you can defiantly tell!! At least I could. All of a sudden I got more pelvic pressure and you could see that she was sitting much lower than she was earlier that day.

I am pregnant with my 5th child and I noticed that he dropped a little bit around 31 weeks. Now I noticed that he has dropped a little more last week. With my 2nd child he didn't drop until I went into labor with him. With my 3rd & 4th they dropped about a month before going into labor. With my 1st I don't remember. I notice when they drop I am able to breathe a little easier but then it starts feeling like they may drop out of me at some time. It is definitely different with every child. Your doctor will be able to tell you when you get measured at you dr appt.

I'm assuming since you are asking this is your first child. It varies from woman to woman and baby to baby. A lot of times for a first pregnancy the baby doesn't drop until during labor. If it happens before that you should notice a definate change in your belly. The baby bump will be much lower. You will also feel a lot more pressure in your pubic area. My daughter (my 3rd) dropped about a month before birth. It felt like she was going to fall out everytime I walked.
