This pregnancy has brought on gall stones for me so I'm on an ultra-low fat diet. I basically live off of chicken, fish, rice, fruits and veggies. No red meat, limited dairy, limited carbs etc etc etc. It has been really hard since I've been losing a lot of weight which I can't do with twins. I'll be adding an ensure weight gain supplement drink per my doctors orders. (I've lost almost 20 lbs already) I also can't have sweets, chocolate, caffeine, the peels of fruits like apples or grapes and nuts. Anyone else had this problem?

I've been so nauseated with this pregnancy that my diet has changed dramatically and not consciously either. Caffeine was making me crazy sick, so i cut it out... i can't eat too much of anything, or anything with a strong smell to it, or anything heavy on my tummy like most meats... I'm pretty much on a Banana, Rice, Applesauce, and Toast diet or a BRAT diet as we would say in the nutrition dept.

As soon as we started TTC I stopped drinking caffeine and aspartame.
I also started eating meat again to up my protein intake. (I'd been a veggie for 8 years but never great at keeping up my protein)
Since I've been pregnant I've been pretty much only wanting carbs but I'm trying to make sure I keep things balanced.
Although I did have a NEED for taco bell the other night. =0)

Actually i am now for some reason i just can't stand the idea of meat, i keep on trying but i always start to feel sick. so i eat beans and nuts and i pick out other items like bread that have some in them so that i get enough. i am also having a hard time with eating dairy but it isn't as hard as eating meat.

at the end of the day i know that i eat healthier than most women so i don't stress too much about it.

Maybe it is because this is my first pregnancy, but I'm kind of obsessed with what I'm eating. I'm usually a pescatarian (veggie who eats fish), so I already eat a lot of fruits and veggies. But I'm worried about too much fish, even of the "okay" kinds like salmon. But then I get worried about not getting the recommended 50-60 grams of protein a day. I've found Greek yogurt (twice the protein), and protein packed everything, but am still only hovering around 30 grams a day. Dairy is great, but often has a lot of fat - beans are good too, but you have to eat more of them, so then you've got more calories. So, I'm considering adding chicken to my diet. Is anyone else a vegetarian?

Ok, i think my baby is weird. With my first pregnacy all i craved was chocolate and cakes. I made sure I took the multivitamins and ate lots of fruits and veggies and didnt touch any alcohol (im not a drinker anyways) and stayed clear from fizzy drinks. But with this pregnancy, i crave food like mustard and i get sick from cakes and chocolate. Smells are the same as the last pregnancy, everything is hightened so I cant eat anything that smells "off" or too strong. Like Tuna. I used to be fine with it. Even tough i dont like fish much i could actually eat it. Now i cant even smell it. Any meat smells and I feel sick.

I am kind of opposite. I mean, I don't binge drink and do drugs, but I do eat worse when I am pregnant. I make sure I get all of the vitamins and such, but I totally splurge and have craving foods all the time. When I was pregnant with my son, I was very sick and was loosing weight, so the doctor actually encouraged me to eat more carbs, and to gain more weight. I took that as the ok to eat what ever I want. I am sort of following the same strategy with this one. I eat what I want, but everything in moderation.

I just found out Im pregnant, but luckily I had already made some diet changes with my family. We are cutting out processed foods and eating more fruits and veggies. I have also eliminated all salt from recipes and additional table salt. I swelled HORRIBLY last time so hopefully that will help a bit. Im also not drinking diet cokes anymore and Ive increased my water intake. Hopefully everything will lead to a healthy pregnancy and baby!

I always change a few things I consume when I am pregnant. Like I don't drink coffee or diet coke. I stay away from the no no's on food like lunchmeat and unpasteurized cheese. I try not too eat too much bad fattening fast food stuff because it's not like I can do an extreme workout later, lol. I've kinda always ate healthy so I am just keeping up with that with less pizza!! Plus I totally am an ice cream freak and it can really pack the pounds on with these crazy prego cravings so I opt for frozen yogurt instead ;) I also don't drink out of plastic water bottles, not sure if it's bad but I think they are a waste. I have 2 bpa free refillable rubbermaide bottles that I drink my water out of. It helps me keep track of how much water I drank in a day. Otherwise I just don't drink enough fluids.
