What are other mom's feeding their little ones on a typical day?

Thanks for the help ladies! My son came down with a 3 day flu about 3 weeks ago, probably right after I posted this question. He did nothing but nurse and vomit for 3 solid days, by the 4th he was ravenous with hunger. He now eats EVERYTHING....it's so weird actually. I can't seem to keep him full any longer and he's no longer gaggy even on super textured foods. I'm happy that's for sure! I'm thinking that perhaps he wasn't feeling good for a while, and maybe he wasn't totally ready for more texture at the time, who knows?!?

Glad to hear that other babies the same age as my son is not fond of cereal or plain pureed meat. Basically anything with a texture he wont touch!! I keep trying so hopefully he will get the hang of it soon. As for what he eats in a day he eats a fruit or pureed oatmeal with fruit for breakfast, bottles throughout the day, and a chicken and rice puree or a veg puree for dinner. Then before bed he has a rice cereal bottle.

My daughter also dislikes the cereals but if I just add a tiny bit to pureed apple and mango she will eat it! Breakfast is fruit with some cereal mixed in, lunch is some pureed vegetables and fingerfood to suck on, dinner is vegetables (sometimes with chicken or fish in it too) and some fruit for dessert if she is still hungry.
Her favourites are apple, mango and carrot so far!

Distract them with something like a cheerio, when they are looking down at the cheerio and trying to pick it up stick the food in there mouth.. If not cheerio maybe chopped up pieces of bananas.. Works every time with my little one!

I feed mine a quarter of a cup of veggies 4-5 times a day. I was told it's okay if they never have cereal, but I do give my little guy some because he sleeps better if I give him some before bed.

funny my son seems to be the only one who prefers his fruit and veggies with cereal. still hates meat though. he still breastfeeds every 3-4 hrs allthough its less time. usually he eats solids twice a day.

my son is 7mths on the 18th oct, he only started solids the wk before he was 6mths, he is only having bf at 8am, may have half a slice of toast at 9am,then lunch at 11am and this is pumpkin and vegies, and dinner is fruit or vegies at 5pm, he is becoming very fussy with breast feeds, main feeds are morning and night,all others are small or he just refuses after a few sucks, ive just introduced water and apple juice which he likes, Tate also had his first arrowroot biscuit and loved it, if tate has rice cereal i just add water and fruit to it.

My daughter is very picky about her foods, too. I found that if I make baby oatmeal with a little bit of cinnamon and sugar in it, she will usually eat it pretty well. Her favorite foods right now are squash and peas. She does not care for fruit at all. I also have started giving her the baby mum mum crackers. Those go over pretty well and keep her entertained for 15 minutes or so. I just have to make sure she doesn't try to stick the whole thing in her mouth and gag herself! Every baby is different. Just remember that the main source of nutrition at this point is breast milk and/or formula, the solid food is mostly just practice and fillers for now.

My daughter turned 7 months old on the 3rd. She hates all meat baby food, however we keep trying! She hates all baby cereals also. However, we have got her to eat the baby food by Gerber mixed with rice, oatmeal, and cereal. We feed her strictly organic!!! She is not a good eater at all, but she meets is still gaining weight which is what is the main thing! In the morning at 6am she will have a 6oz bottle. Around 9am 4 oz bottle 12:30 A whole Plum packet of organic vegetable/fruit. 3:00 Bottle 5:00 1/2 packet of Veggies(if I can get her to eat this.) 8 Organic Gerber Fruit mixed with Rice, Oatmeal, or Cereal and a 5 oz bottle!

My baby is 6mths and I'm going down the baby led weaning i.e finger foods for example tea today was toast soliders mango and watermelon slices and a piece of banana she also had organix carrot slices tomorrow we will be having omelette slices broccoli and carrot pieces she is enjoying feeding herself and it is less stressful for me

My son will be 7 months (gasp) on the 25th of october. he is also gaggy at times. we just started meats with him and because it has more texture he was gaggy the first couple of days.. now he's starting to chew and he's doing well.

my son is on a routine given by the specialist for his reflux. when he wakes in the am he has 4tsp of cereal (oatmeal, barley or mixed grain) mixed with homemade purreed fruit and water. then he has a 5 oz bottle - this is usually between 7 and 8am

then between 12pm and 1pm he'll have a cube of turkey, a cube of veggies and a half cube of fruit, and a 4.5oz bottle (we're still feeeling around with this one, as i just started the meat the other day)

then between 5pm and 6pm he will have either a cube of veggie and a cube of fruit or 2 cubes of fruit and a 5oz bottle

then at bed time (between 7 and 8pm) he will have an 8oz bottle and no food

My son will be 7 months on the 10th of Oct, and on a typical day, he nurses every 2 to 4 hours. I usually feed him either a little bit of pureed pears, squash, or sweet potato (I make my own) twice a day, although the last few days I have given it to him 3 times. Sometimes I mix in rice cereal. Both of my children have been adventurous eaters, so I don't know that I have any more advice than to keep trying. Have you tried mixing the cereals with either breast milk or formula? At first my son would not eat the cereals unless they were made with breast milk. Now, he doesn't mind them made with water.
