I'm 33 weeks with my second. We already have most everything we need from the first. I''m wondering what fun/new things people have found to buy for a second/third, etc child. Any new must haves you have discovered?

I have found a great website that helps with buying baby products: BabyGearLab. Their reviews based on in-depth testing are incredibly comprehensive, and the company was founded by a pediatrician. The one on diapers is especially impressive, but they have many products reviewed so far, including: baby bottles, diaper bags, diaper pails, jogging strollers. I switched the diapers I was using because of their review. Check them out: www.babygearlab.com

i found a strap that hold the bottle/sippy cup and straps on to the car seat or stroller so if the baby throws its... you dont have to keep picking it up its awesome and i cant believe i didn't find it earlier!!

I'm having a girl this time around (we have a two year old boy), so I've bought a ton of clothes...and a lot of pink and purple stuff that I couldn't buy before (blankets, wash cloths, bibs...) We just put together the double stroller today. It seems huge, but I think it will work great - we got a Contours Tandem. I like that it comes with two seats that can face either way, and it's compatible with our Peg Perego car seat. I had a ton of fun with her bedroom too...even put up a little pink chandelier!

i agree with everyone that the baby carrier is a big thing if you have another child between 1-3. (my daughter is turning 2 on the 17th and im due on the 30th with a boy but doctor thinks im going to have him early!) I bought a double stroller (both the side by side umberlla style and the baby and toddler one in front of the other stroller) i neededa new crib mattresss since my daughters went from her crib into her toddler bed. a lot of clothes since we are having a boy this time and as for the must haves- we needed more things to suit havign a toddler and a new born, with uor frist she was able to jsut be in an infant seat on the ground but our toddler wants to jump all over the furniture etc, so we had to get a multi-level play pen so we could have a hands free place to put pur newborn where our toddler cant get in. a breastfeeding cushion- i used pillows with my first but it wasnt as comfortable so we got the peanut cushion this time. bumper pads for the crib!
People are very oppionated about this issues saying kids can suffocate but my first child always got her arms stuff and was able to scale up the crib by 7 months, i caught her climbing out, almost completly out by 10 months (since she also walked at 9 months she had a lot of leg strength) so we eventually had to get them for our first born so we bought a crib bedding set this time around to avoid the problem in general.

Double BOB. Love my single so it was a must have to upgrade. New wrap so I can be hands free to chase my 2 year old around and a video monitor.

A soft papasan swing with that plays music from your ipod. I think a new diaper bag is pretty essential, too.

the only thing i got that i didnt have with the others is a mini crib. i love love love it. i had a regular crib with my other 2 and it took up sooooo much space, and they never even used it because they ended up in the pack and play in our room, so this time i got a mini crib and put it next to my bed. the other thing i love about it is they can stay in it way longer than a bassinet because you can lower the matress down, like a regular crib.

The Ergo baby carrier. My son will be 15 mo. when the next one is due and he is very busy. I've tried a few dif. carriers but feel that this one will be the best for us.

I invested in a good baby carrier this time so I can still keep up with our son and carry her around safely. I also have a few convenience items that I didn't need with my son but now that I don't have as much time...I think it will be great to have anything that can help me move fast.

Well, my hubby and I are looking at a couple of different double strollers (my son will be 18m when she's born). I haven't decided which one I like more (Sit and Stand is cheaper and I already have a car seat to fit it bt infant is infront which makes no sense to me for feeding times vs. Chicco Cubes where infant is closer to me (toddler in front) but it's WAY more expensive and I'd need a new car seat). We are def buying clothes, bedding, etc (different gender)...new baby book, scrapbook, photo frames etc. We are prob gonna get a new crib mattress and changing pad because my sons changing to the toddler bed and the mattress he used are just worn out lol. We're keeping w/ the same monitor and most of the toys (I don't see any point in buying the same toys just because they are pink when his are more colorful (blue, red, orange, green etc vs just pink and white)). So mainly just stroller and clothes...our big buy is (eventually) to get a bigger vehicle lol!

Well, I find it interesting that so many new things came out in the past 2 years that either didn't exist or I didn't know about with my first.

One of them being a video monitor. We splurged and got a video monitor set with 2 cameras. I love it so much.

I also need a new breast pump bc I had borrowed a friend's last time and needed my own this time.

Other then that, we bought a lot of clothes (since its a different gender) and a double stroller. My son is 2, so we got one of the sit and stand ones so the baby can be in the front in her infant seat, and he can sit or stand on the back part.
