eggs are a great source of protein....my little one loves french toast too, and pancakes (homemade made with whole grains ie; oats and whole wheat flour) in fact he won't eat baby food anymore, only what we're eating.

My daughter gets really full from avocados and sweet potatoes. I also give her whole wheat pasta and cheese. She eats a variety of foods but those are the best for filling her up it seems.

Feed your baby what you feed yourself, around 8 months is a great time experimenting with foods!! Try fruits and vegetables!
