I am wondering what the varied thoughts on buying kids shoes are? Up until now I have mostly purchased my sons shoes from resale shops or been able to use hand me downs, but apparently he has reached a size that is not easy to find. So I am debating between cheap "payless" shoes or one or two pairs of great expensive shoes. I'd love to hear everyone's experiances! Thanks!

I do a combination of both. I have a daughter, and I like buying the cute boots, which are never cheap enough for me. However, I will throw in a payless pair or two, because she needs to enjoy herself when she is at school or outside playing with her friends, and not be worried about messing up her shoes because mommy paid so much for them. Plus, Payless dont sell cheap priced shoes anyway. they've gotten really expensive to be called Payless.
