From toddler bed to big boy twin size bed!

At what age would you think it was safe enough to go from the crib sized toddler bed to a big boy twin bed considering they are just slightly higher off the floor?

My son, who is almost 2 1/2, went into a big boy bed about 3 months ago. We put a small rail up on the side. So far, we haven't had any problems with him falling out or anything.

i believe 3 is the age....bed railings could be benificial as well

Sorry, I just read "crib" not the toddle bed part. I would just leave him there as long as you he is comfortable there. My girls both had toddler beds, and they used them till about 4 or so. They liked them and were comfortable there so we let them be.

My son has been in a twin bed since about 18 mos. He decided to climb out of his crib and he fell to the floor I never put him back in it. His bed has rails on it so he won't fall out. He has never had a problem with it.

Interesting concerns. My daughter is 2.5 almost and doing fine in her toddler bed.. when SHOULD I move her to a twin? I mean I don't see a problem with her being in a twin now, especially if we put up the rail, but she seems fine in the toddler bed... my curiosity is when to take her out of the toddler bed.

My son went form a crib to a twin bed at 1 years old. It is a race car bed so it may not be as high as a twin frame is. If he rolls you may have to put sides on it so he does not fall out if you are worried about that.

Whenever you feel ready!! My son is 2 and sleeps in a twin size bed. We bought the rails to put on the sides so he doesnt fall off the bed while he sleeps.
