Having trouble potty training

I am having the same issue with my 2 almost 3 year old little guy. He has maybe once or twice come to me and said he has had to go, but mostly it is us making him sit and try. We have accidents everyday, we have been training for a little over a month now!!! He has only gone #2 maybe twice since we have started! I have tried candy, it worked for a minute, but now he doesn't care. He already has maybe 100 or so hot wheels cars not sure if it would be worth it to give him a car everyday...Idk either I guess it's all about patience!

i hear you! my daughter will be 3 in may and she will go #1 in the potty when i put her on it but not #2 and she will tell me after she goes but not before and i 2 older kids that i had no problem with and 1 thats 4 months and i need her out of diapers! lol

I had many problems with resistance and what really helped us was the videos! they get to see there peers sitting on the potty and sheing them having fun doing it. My daughter wouldnt go, then we watched the videos and no joke 20 min later she was in teh bathroom going pee in the potty. we have been steady since then. we have our fall backs as everyone does. just remember to it isnt over night and just focus in day time training for right now.

over night comes on its own.

I had the same problem with my son ashton. he wanted nothing to do with the potty. I recently contacted the principle of my pre-school. She had been successful in preparing children to use the potty. First of all, no more diapers. get training underwear. They have underwear that are lined. When they have an accident, have your child clean it up and change themself. They will realize that this is a hassle. Also, stress how much time it takes to clean up and change themselves. Hope this helps!!

My daughter will be 3 may 14th and we are also having problems with her going on the potty all the time some days she will go all day with no accadints and some days she wont go on the potty at all . she has not got on to telling me when she has to go but i watch her if i give her juice or water she will need to go in 15 min. but if she has millk it will take about 1 and 1/2 hours . so i time her and i have her set on the potty just before the time is up and she will go every time.But i haven't got her telling me yet.It will come with time .

I hear ya! I have a 3 month old baby as well as my daughter who will be 3 in May and I have tried everything candy toys taking her when I go and big girl undies with her favorite cartoon character and nothing has seemed to work. I have decided to let her tell me when she wants to go and she will get there in her own time.

I don't know if this will work for you, but my son loves cars, trucks, anything with wheels, so everytime he goes potty he gets a new matchbox car. He absolutely loves it! he is so proud when people come over because he can show them his collection and he tells them he got them for going potty. I told my friend about it and she tried it with her daughter. She loved barbies, so everytime she went she got a new barbie. She is completely potty trained and has a beautiful collection, Hope this helps!

My daughter is the same way. She will be 3 in May. She just doesn't want to sit on the potty. She comes with me alot and sometimes will sit on her potty next to me but not all the time. I've tried stickers, candy but she just doesn't want to sit still.

It is really difficult when they don't seem to be getting the hang of potty training. My daughter also refused untill recently. As in the other comments I agree they all get there in thier own time and we did find that taking her to the toilet every time I went did help. Every child is different but I know that at my daughter's nursery they try and make the potty into a game ie. signing songs etc or you could also use a sticker chart.

Let her go every time you go! Tell her to sit down till you are finnesed but every child will tell you when they are redy!

Elizabeth I feel your pain. My son is also very resistant to the potty, and it is driving me CRAZY! I am sorry I don' thave any advice or tricks, but take comfort that you're not alone.
