Hi everyone,

Welcome to the May 2007 Babies community, where we chat about our May 2007 children and whatever else is on our minds!

To get things started, I thought it would be nice if we all introduced ourselves in this thread, which will be pinned to the community home page. Whether you're a Circle of Moms veteran or you're new to the site, let us know who you are, what you’re interested in, and what your lovely May 2007 child is up to right now, developmentally speaking!

hi my name is jeannie or Jay. i live in brisbane australia and have been a member of circle of mums for awhile now. My son Cody was born on the 31st of may 2007 he is my only biological child i have an older step son who i class as mine anyway i've been in his life since he was two and love him like my own. Cody started prep this year (which is the first year of school here not sure what it is everywhere else) and he is loving it he is a little behind the other kids but he is one of the youngest and is still quite young minded, but the teacher is very happy with how his responding and how he is improving thought the past 8 weeks.

Hi, my daughter Becca was born on May 6, 2007. I put in her in preschool this year, to get her use to not being with me all the time. She is doing great in preschool, I was the one having the hard time with her in preschool. I also started a third shift nursing job, so juggling Becca and her older sister's drum schedule is quite a trip sometimes. Becca likes to be the boss and thinks that she is doing everything for herself. She is my little "girl". She doesn't like to get her hands dirty, she has to wash her hands all the time. I have gotten use to this now. I just tell her to go wash her hands when she thinks they are dirty. She likes to color, and play outside. She loves the beach, but doesn't understand why she can't go there now. So, i just tell her that she has to wait until her older sister is out of school for the summer.
She is all ready picky when it comes to her clothes and shoes. She is in a pink phase right now. She loves princess'. She is my little teenager....lol

Hi There, My daughter Alexandra was born on May 9 2007. She thinks she is the boss of the house now. Daycare helped so much as before that she was spoiled rotten. She didn't have to share her toys or share my attention. Now she has a baby brother (Aiden) born on Feb.4 2011 and she is in love with him. She offers her toys to him, tells me when he is crying (like i didn't already know) and loves to hold his bottle for him when he is feeding. She took a while to potty train, she didn't get it until about a month after her 3rd birthday. She got very confused with the pull-ups, so I tried cotton underwear. At first she would pee thru her underwear wherever she happen to be standing, I just kept reinforcing her and asking her if the pee is coming and telling her what to do when she feels the pee coming. It worked. Within a week she knew exactly what she was doing. Not a single accident since (including nights). My mother in law would bug me all the time about how she was so old and not potty trained, even went as far as saying that there must be something wrong with her developmentally...as her miricle babies were potty trained at 6 months (ya right!) I was so frustrated by her negative comments but just kept in my mind that she will get it when she is ready...and boy she sure did. As for pooping in the potty, I waited about a week with her potty trained and then bribed her with a fancy barbie and dvd if she pooped in the potty. She did so almost immediatley and has never looked back. As for the leftover diapers, I packed them away immediatley after the first poop in the potty and told her that we did not have any more diapers in the house so she had to go potty. It really worked. Donated any sealed leftover diapers and that was that. I am so grateful for any responses I have gotten on Circle of Moms, thank you!

Hello, My name is Mary, I am expecting my first boy in a couple of weeks tops, and have a lovely girl that's 3&1/2 (born in may 07) She is so wonderfully independent, starting to be very very helpful, especially when I am specific about the task I need her help with. She does tend to get frustrated quickly, and I see all kinds of me in her! I am trying my best to practice my own calm and patient demenor, so that It will rub off on her...She is really into painting and telling me all about it...sometimes showing me how to do it too...

Hello Everyone,
My name is Tara and I am a young mother. I gave birth to my oldest child McKenzie, born May 1, 2007, when I was only 17 years old. My daughter is great. We added another child in November 2009. She is a great big sister and love her baby brother, Dustin, very much. My daughter is almost completely potty trained, the only problem we have is that she will wake up wet every once in a while. She is very intelligent, and will be starting Preschool sometime in August. She really likes to sing, her inspiration is Hannah Montana.
McKenzie has a temper, she really has a temper. She likes to make the mess but she does not like to clean it up. I can, however get her to help with the dishes, wiping down the table, feeding the animals, and she really likes to help with the laundry. She folds really well!
That is about it really. She is a really great daughter I love her very much.

Hi All. I´m very new here, in fact only joined today. I have 4 children and Amy is the youngest. Born on 27th May. Having older sisters and a brother she is, in some ways, a bit spoilt. But she knows exactly what she wants and this is such a fascinating age. I´m basically a stay-at-home mum with just a few evening classes (I´m English, but live in Germany) and I really enjoy this time I can spend with the children.

Hello everyone,

My name is Kim and I am the mom to Mackenna and Daniel born 5/25/07. They were foster care before adoption this April. I am having struggles with attitudes and potty training and am not sure if it is a result of abuse during the first 15 months or a normal three year old thing.

Mackenna gives me attitude like she is in control of the house and we strongly butt heads on an almost daily basis. At times, I seriously believe her ears do not connect to her brain. We have a joke around here that goes: "thank goodness she's pretty" because she can be sitting quietly in a chair reading a book and just fall out of the chair.

Daniel is really struggling right now with a sharp temper and is quick to anger and will strike out at whatever is in the way, usually me or his sisters.

Daniel has no interest in going potty on the "big boy" potty and although Mackenna has gone at times, makes no attempt to let us know when she has to potty and then is quick to let us know when she is soaked.

Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

He was born with Holt Oram Syndrome (deformity of the hands with heart condition) and was in the NICU for the first 2 months of his life. Hello Everyone! I'm Alta 29 and my child is Althea. She was born on the 26th of May. She is potty trained but has a diaper on for bed as she sometimes soakes the bed. She is so curious into everything...asking a lot of questions. She loves being read to, love to dance, sing and she loves coloring, painting as well as arts and crafts. She is very chatty to us (her mom and dad) but when we are outside or when there's somebody around whom she's not familiar with, she's timid. Sometimes she's not speaking clearly maybe because we speak to her in two languages.. English and our native language. So I don't know if that is normal. Other than that she is our Little Angel. ^_^

Ayden has been potty trained since September, day and night, he is very good at expressing himself, sometimes too good and he loves to make up stories to tell me and his sister...

As Lil B gets bigger he is refering himself as big b and daddy is big daddy. haha. He makes me so proud, he knows all his colors, hes loves to count, & is working on his shapes. He started potty training at about 14 months, like his sister. It would come & go with him. Now hes been potty trained since last summer. And its been almost 3 weeks without over night diapers. He is a very venturous, free sprited talkative boy. He loves his big sister so much. I am so proud to be his mommy!!

My poor baby is top 8+ food allergic and so we have a hard time finding food she can actually eat. She has been potty trained since before last summer (only because her 2 older brothers use the toilet and she just decided that was the thing to do during the day). She is still in a pull up at night. Arrrggghhh. I know it will happen when it happens, I'm just ready for it to be over. LOL

Hi Everyone!

My name is Athena. My baby girl was born May 3rd, 2007, she weighed 5 lbs. 10 oz. she was born at 36 weeks by emergency c-section. She had to stay in NICU for 9 days :( but came home to me for Mother's Day, a day I will never forget! She's been potty trained for several months. She even goes on her own! She'll walk in the living room in just her undies and I ask her " Madalynn where are your pants?" and she says "in the bathroom mommy" ha ha! So, I tell her " no no let's go clean you right". She wants to do everything on her own! She talks like a 5 year old too :) Two things I'm working on right now is getting her to eat more, she's very picky. And, getting her to sleep in her own room! She loves to dance and sing! And is a great big sister :) Take Care Ladies!

We are currently working on potty training, which hasnt been going when due to the baby in the house. I am told that she does not want to potty because her sister goes in her diaper. Natalie recently had her tonsils out and was diagnosed with asthma but she just keeps going. Now that her tonsils have been removed, she speaks clearly and lately has been singing any and all songs and saying her alphabet. She can even recognize letters thanks to her very diligent sister.
