If potty training is going nowhere or just getting a screaming child, then I would stop and wait a bit longer. For my DD I let her lead the way entirely, I had the potty and the panties and she was allowed to sit on the potty or wear her panties whenever she wanted to. but was still in diapers for the most part. She refused to actually go on the potty she would ask for a diaper if she didn't have one on already. Then one day about 6 weeks ago she had her diaper off (her own doing) and she tried to poop on the potty, only she had the removable pot out and just couldn't get it back in in time. I didn't know what she was doing as she didn't say anything and doing what she was doing with the potty wasn't out of the norm for her. Then later that day she took her diaper off and peed in the potty. That was it, we had a quite a few accidents for 2 days and never looked back. She had only 2 or 3 accidents up until last week, then she was peeing in her panties, and is now pooping in them, So now I am dealing with regression in that dept although she seems back on track with the peeing. Give it time, leave the option available at all times, ask if he/she wants to use the potty but don't push it.

Maybe the baby is not ready to be potty trained yet. Try using a book called My potty for Girlds/boys, that worked for my daughter. Another thing, is you just have to keep sitting the baby on the potty,,

If it isn't working quit for a few months and try again. My youngest will be 2 on May 17th and while she occassionally talks about the potty she is no where near ready. My other three were all around 2 and a half before they were truly ready. In my experience potty training should take no more than a few weeks. Don't use pull ups during the day, they defeat the purpose. Only at nap time and bed time. When she does tell you that she needs to go, and does Reward, Reward, reward. Anything will work, a few m&m's or a sticker. Good luck!
