What do you plan on doing for your child's second birthday? I am not sure what to do for my daughter. Most people coming to the party will be adults, but there will be a handful of kids aged 0-3, and a few older ones (5 - 7). For her first birthday it was more of just a gathering of friends and family since all the kids were still really young. But I want some ideas for games or activities to keep the little ones having busy, and having fun. Weather permitting, it will be outdoors

I was thinking of renting a bounce house since it's only $60 for 5 hours. I think they'd really enjoy that.... but what else?

i'm doing a blues clues party for my lil guys 2nd birthday. for his first we did curious george. i got on pbsparents.org and they had all the stuff i needed to make hats and game ideas and such. they've got something like it on nickjr. too so we're going to use it this year. they all had fun with it last year, we're going to play easy games like put the tail on the donkey, and duck, duck, goose this year. the bounce house sounds like a good idea too.

I am makng a Fancy Nancy Tea Party for my daughter's 2nd birthday. We are using the community hall and inviting practically the whole neighborhood. There will be desserts served and everyone needs to dress up fancy. I am soooooo freaking super-excited because I have been planning this party for the past 3 months! Games we are playins are Pin the Tiara on the Princess, Dress-Up, Decorate your own Sundae, and I'm going to have a Pinata. Maybe it's not such a 2 year old party, but she's not going to rememebr it anyway, as long as she gets cake!! hahah/

I think the jumping castle is an excellent idea - I have 3 boys aged 6,3 and almost 2 and they all love the bouncy castle!! If it's a nice day you could also put out a paddling pool - try one of those larger inflatable ones that have little crawl-through parts and seats - they'll spend hours in it!!

I would personally say that for a 2 year old's birthday they get the most enjoyment out of just running around and playing with other kids. But if you would like a few activities I would recommend open ended ones like:

Provide a large quantity of balls (at least one per child) and let them make up thier own game.

or go to a store near by and as for some old boxs, buy some paint and other exciting things and lay them out in the back yard and let the children decide what they would like to make, it would take minimal supervision and children LOVE boxs

I know my 2 year will sit and she'll play games like duck, duck, goose already.  maybe and activity like decorating cup cakes would be a good idea.  My daughter loves doing that, and the older kids would like it too.  or a craft with stickers.
