Does anyone else have problems with their toddler girl keeping their hair up. My daughter Jordan 20 months will not keep her hair up. She sits there and lets me put it in a pony tail or pig tails but after I get done with it she pulls it out. Does anyone else have this problem? Any solutions??

My daughter wont let me do hardly anything with her hair. if i'm lucky, she'll keep the hair-tie in when i braid her bangs off to the side....she wont do clips or headbands....she does love hats tho. :D

hi i am sure you dont really want to hear this but my daughter sarah is 18 months old and i have had to tie her hair up out of her face since she was 10 months old she loved having her hair done in the moring she even sits on the chair with the brush shouting " mummy hair up " . however my older daughter now 5 was an absolute night mear she would scream if i even gestured towards getting the brush let alone keeping in a bobble. i think it is just now to the personality of the child and how persisten you can be at putting it back in sorry not much more help

After trying and trying with my daughter I gave up and cut her hair short. It gave us both more time to adjust to putting her hair up. It grew back thicker (which made it harder for her to pull out the ponies) and by then she had calmed down enough to leave them in better.

I have the same problem. Although, she is starting to show more interest in hair ties etc. I always point out her older cousin's hair when it's done or other little friends that let their moms do their hair. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that she comes around to the idea before summer.

Well atleast I'm not the only one with this hair issue!! Lol!!!! I guess its just the normal thing for kids this age. She takes clips iut too! But I may try some other hair ties to see if that helps? Hopefully it will. Just keep doing it until she stops pulling it out. The sad thing is by the time she stops pulling it out my other daughter will start!! They're 11 months apart. Looks like I'll be going through this for a while!

My daughter and her friend are both pro's at the "Mommy's turned her back, quick, pull out the pigtails". I'm afraid that it's somewhat of a loosing battle. I have found that some days she won't do pigtails/ponytails, but will tolerate a barrette (just to sweep the bangs back from her face), or a headband (if it's the goofy dress up type with antenna coming out of the top, so much the better ).

Oh Amanda Im with you on this. I have a little one born on 5-11-07 and I have been trying trying to get her hair up since her birthday, she will wear clips but not ponytail holders at all. Her hair is so long and shaggy it hangs in her face unless she has a bow in. She calls them pretties and runs around saying momma see pretty. Like "hey mom I need to see, so put my pretty in... so sad huh"
If only she would let me put in something a little more permanent. I with you on this, but haven't yet really really fought the battle....

Lol!!! My daughter was pretty much bald until she was one and now she has a lot of hair. It'll grow just give it a little more time:)

This may be one of those things that you just can't help! My daughter is on and off with this. Some days she lets me leave them in, others she's trying to take it out. My main struggle is getting her to let me do it though. I have to sit her on the edge of the sink and let her play in some water to distract her LOL! So I suppose just keep trying. Babies can be stubborn but eventually she'll get the hint that mommy is going to keep putting it in, regardless! :)

You're so lucky she has enough hair to do that with!!!! LOL My little girl is just now starting to get enough hair to put little piggies in. And by little piggies...I mean the little ones that still stick up like antennas! She still doesn't have a thick, full head of hair. But I would say just keep one trying. And when she tries to pull them out, try to catch her and tell her they look pretty in her hair. Sorry I can't be of much more help!

I've been trying it almost everyday since she's been one and had enough hair and she pulls them out everytime! I don't know what to do?
