We're headed on a 3 leg trip this weekend w/ my daughter. I haven't taken her on a a flight for about 6 months. Any tips for entertaining a very, very active toddler? Also, she's still nursing occassionally (and can be very demanding when she wants to nurse, say at naptime). So, if anyone has tried nursing a toddler in an airport/airplane, I'm interested to hear about your experience.

I don't know if you already had your trip or not but these are some things we did when my son was about 1 1/2 years and we went on a flight. Pick up some things from the dollar store that she's never seen before- crayons and coloring book, doll, pullstring toy, etc make sure it's not very noisy ;-) and take one out every 1 or so Bring snacks and check the current liquid requirements, if you can bring unopened water bottles or not. Keep her hydrated. as for nursing, it's no different than any other public place, I use the swaddling blankets from infancy to drape over my shoulder and cover it all. They're not too heavy to make it hot. Just be sure to practice some at home so she doesn't freak out at the airport being her first time. We had the flying harnesses when we went then and everyone seemed to think I was overreacting. We may fly ina few months and I'm not even sure if I still have them but I felt better with them. It's your comfort level as a mom.

Good luck and enjoy your trip!
