Anyone else have a difficult pregnancy and recovery?

I got pregnant rather quickly. Had about a month where I was fine, then the nausea set in. I was nauseous for about 4 months STRAIGHT 24/7. When that finally subsided, I started with the heartburn. It was 24/7 for the remainder of my pregnancy. To top that off (which isn't that bad) I had pre-eclampsia, 2 kidney infections, I was anemic, and they thought I was diabetic (even though I wasn't I still got to worry for about a week that I might be.) When I finally went into labor, I labored for 24 hours, pushed for an hour (my worst nightmare) and got wheeled into OR for a c-section. I had gone to nursing school so I knew that movement was going to be the best thing for me, but my nurse told me she would come get me to walk, and she never did. I found out about 24 hours later after lying in bed, that it was up to me and my husband to get up and walk. That makes recovery about 50% harder. So once I could get up and walk, I was in pain BAD pain. I've had 2 yeast infections on my incision, and they think I have a nerve caught in the scar. I am still red and blue and pussy. I just wanted to share my experience and see if anyone else had a similar one to mine.

Well I had morning sickness for about 24 weeks . Then I found out that I was diabetic. I was also very anemic. I was hospitilized for 5 days with kidney stones, man was that painful. I had a c-section and they found a sponge that had been left there from my previous c-section 12 years ago. So when I finally got ready to go home I stood up and could not see and had the worst headache that I have ever had in my entire life. They found that when thay put the epidurial in my back they punctured the bag that surrounds the spinal cord, and my spinal fluid was leaking out. So I had to stay in the hospital for another 2 days and have another needle put in my back to inject blood onto the spot that was leaking, I cried and cried and felt that I was never going to get out of that hospital. But now all is well and I have a beautiful baby boy, but he will be the last. I could not go through all that again.

Hi! I can definately relate to preg issues. Nausea 1st 17 weeks nothing made it better unless i was eating and as soon as put the utensil down it came back, yup heartburn til i gave birth, 2 bladder infections (I had no room in my stomach for food at the end even though I was so hungry, i chose food over fluids), hip pain as my body was getting ready for the big day, round ligament pain that put me in bed for 2 days and on darvocet and anemia is the worst while preg (I could sleep for 18 hours and still want naps, not that I ever slept that long, but it would have been great. However, i had normal vaginal delivery during this full term preg so I can't relate after this time. But I was preg a year before I found out I was preg with my son and I had a ectopic preg that was in my fallopian tube that burst (yes, I had prenatal care, it's a long story). I had emergency surgery after I was taken to hospital via EMS and bc so much blood was floating around in my abdomen I have an old school c-section scar from just below my belly button to my pubic hair line. The bottom part of my scar leaked clear fluid and had to be opened and cleaned everyday for two weeks by my doc at the time. He swabbed the endless hole with peroxide, cut out dead cells and stuffed it with gauze soaked in peroxide. Yea, my fam and I made many jokes about that hole. It felt like forever for that hole to close. I wore pants with no zipper or buttons for quite a while. While I was in recovery the nurse told me I needed to cough to help keep fluid off my lungs.....that felt great with fresh stitched incision on my abdomen. I'm sorry ur going through what u are. Though my situation is not just like urs I just wanted to let u know ur not alone.

This last baby was my 3rd section and my hardest.  I don't know if was by age or what?? I was 37 at time.  Pregnancy was the easiest out of all three.  Once I was out of hospital the better I was.  Had baby on a Wednesday out of the hospital on Friday which I almost cried when they told that I was going home!!! I could barely walk to the bathroom.  For my other two they made me wait at least 24 hrs before getting me up but this time it was less than 12!!  It was 8 years since my last section so I guess things change over time.  I was soooo sore and still hurting from the section.  Had a drs. appt the following Monday by that time I was feeling better. Even drove to school pick up kids. I know your not suppose to but felt soooo good I couldn't resist.
