Do any of your May babies try to climb up onto anything (chairs, couch) My daughter just started recently being able to climb completely up unto the couch & getting down with no problem.

As fearless as my son is, he has not started to climb on to furniture yet. He doesn't even try to climb up on them. He climbs stairs very well and will walk over things that are on the floor...books, toys, pillows, my toes...He does try to climb down off of things. But trys to go head first. I keep turning him around so he goes down feet and back side first instead of head and front side. I am wondering if this is because he never "crawled" he scooted on his butt instead...

my son climbs everything! you give him an obstacle, furniture, people, stairs...you get the picture! We call him our all terrain baby! the only one that really gets me is he's started trying to climb in and out of the tub and I'm worried he's going to hurt himself ( no he's not alone in the tub but he's really quick sometimes)

Yeah, our daughter can't really figure out how to get down gracefully =] She tries to walk off the edge, which scares me to death. It's weird because she just started climbing out of the blue. She's been walking for about 2 months now. It just seems weird because she was born 6 weeks early & is still kind of short (29.5 inches)

Absolutely! As soon as she was able to pull herself to standing, she started trying to pull herself up on to the couch, etc. Last night, we were at a friend's house where she repeatedly climbed in and out of a canoe (with a little help)! We're still working on trying to get her to climb down backward from things but she still tries to lunge headfirst off the couch, etc.

my daughter climbs whole sets of stairs. she scaled my bureau (with no drawers pulled out!) this morning. she was only 30in. at 12 months but that doesn't stop her. the only problem is that she won't stop and wait for help when confronted with a obstacle, so I have to be quick on my toes. It's so fun to watch them grow and explore!

Yes My older twin he walked at 10 months and as soon as he could stand he was trying to climb onto the baby gates and coffee table! he climbs onto the couches and our bed constantly and my daughter younger twin she has figured out how to move things to where she can use them to climb up with her brother!

Oh yeah, totally! Is your daughter tall? Mine was 33in at her year appt. I figure that has something to do with it. But my daughter is fearless. We just teach her how to get back down or sit down to try things. I figure its good for her to learn how to do it correctly rather than try and prevent her. Now she's trying to think ahead. Like I'll climb on this chest and then onto the couch arm in order to reach the light switch. Crazy!
