Birth Story: I had to be induced at 39 wks because i had preeclampsia ...i was induced with cervadil at 4 pm on saturday. because it was my first they didnt think the first one would work they thought after the 12 hrs they would have to put another one in so we werent expecting a baby til monday!.....anyways at 1:30 am sun morning i woke up with cramps ...we called the nurse and sure enough i was 2-3 cm dialated...the cervadil had done it's job!....they had to give me nubane because i couldnt have the epidural just yet....i wasnt dialated enough...they tried breaking my water but they couldnt....so they waited a couple more hrs....tried breaking it again..still couldnt....at about 8 am once the nubane started wearing off......they checked and i was 6 cm dialated so they tried once again to break my water and it was a success....they gave me the epidural about 1/2 hr after that.....at 12 pm they checked me because i was feeling a lot of pressure and the urge to push and i was fully dialated.....i pushed for an hr and was told i had to stop pushing for an hr....so i had to lie there and deal with the urges to push..:(...(extremely uncomfortable)....they were only giving me another hr to push and if no baby then i would have had to have an emergency c-section.....after the hr of waiting i couldnt wait any longer ...i started pushing once again and within 20 mins our little man was born!!.....i was sick throughout the whole labour (we think the nubane and epidural had a lot to do with it)......near the end the epidural ran out so i could feel quite a bit...i didnt get to hold him for the first hr as they had to tend to me first....but once i did it was an an amazing mothers day present and cant wait to have that same feeling with our next one!!!....

Birth Story:  I went for my 39 week appt and when the Dr. did the internal exam he realized the baby was bum down and sent me for an ultra sound to confirm.  He was bum down so a c-section was booked for me the following day.  Bryce arrived at 5:25pm healthy and happy.  I was not happy about having a c-section and was very scared, but everything turned out great in the end:)

Birth Story: It was a Monday morning.  I was 10 days before my due date and having terrible contractions. We went to the hospital and was checked in right away at 8AM. At arrival I was dialated to 4cm but when they rechecked me at noon I was only at 5cm.  With not much progress I agreed they could brake my water at 1PM. 20 minutes after my water was broke my son was ready to come out. After 25 minutes of pushing, with an all nautral childbirth (no drugs), our baby arrived. He was happy and healthy baby BOY! We hadn't known the sex of the baby so this was a great surprise.

Story: I was 11 days overdue - spent 5 days doing gel treatments and was FINALLY induced. It was pretty comfortable for the first 4-5cm. The monitors were not picking up the contractions so they decided to place internal monitors - that ended up taking about 15 minutes - multiple cables were faulty and instead of getting out of there and letting me recoop their intern kept trying new things all the time despite my plea for them to stop and screaming. After that I needed an epidural to get me back to a comfortable place. All in all I was in labor for 11 hours. Aside from the internal monitors I had no complaints. Culler is VERY happy and healthy!

Birth Story: Well, I got to May 1st and was still pg. lol Went in to the OB on the 5th and still 2cm nothing more. So, they scheduled an induction for the 7th. MIL came to watch dd for a while, dh and I got to the hospital bright and early at 5am. They took my info, put in an IV and got me started on Pitocin.  At 8:45 my dr. came and broke my water. My mom arrived shortly after. Things went really quickly then! No epi. just some nubaine (SP?) Twenty minutes of pushing and Hunter was born at 11:05AM. They held him up for me to see him and the first thing out of my mouth wat "OMG he's huge!" everyone got a big laugh out of that one.

Birth Story: i was sleeping on the couch it was the only way i could get comfortable. it was the morning of my last baby shower and at 7am my water broke. i was 33 weeks along. we called our parents and then the doctor. i had nothing ready for the hospital and i hadent taken my classes yet. after 9 hours of labor and 40mins of pushing at 4:34pm abigale came into this world, and 7 mins later 4:40pm colton came. they let us see them for a few mins and then took them away. for 3 weeks they were in the nicu before we could take them home.

Birth Story: I was on bed rest for 3 wks for high blood pressure. Had a dr appt on Fri and they said they would enduce me the following Monday. My water broke about 15 minutes after getting home. I never started contractions on my own and had to have Pitocin. My epidural made my bp drop to 70/30 so I spent most of the night passed out/vomitting from that. Then after 2 hours of pushing the laborist said the dumbest comment I have ever hear "shut off her epidural and tell her to relax" Oh yeah relax after 31 hours of labor and no epidural. Well after all that and another hour of pushing my son was born-no c-section thankfully.

Birth Story: I was 2 weeks early (had been dropped for 6 weeks) and developped this rash called PUPS... It suck hard rocks and the only way to stop itching was to get in the shower. My Dr said she felt bad for me so she gave me a (scip, that the pharmacy didn't want to fill, bastards, b/c i was pregnant) day to get everything ready and then induse that Thursady. I got settled into the hospital on Wed night with my alternative coach (DH was working in NC, him and his boss are on my crap list still) Next day I swear at a nurse when she put my IV in and they stat petosin. My contactions get rockin! About 9 or 9:30 Dr broke my water and EVERYTHING STOPPED! "Thats not good..." came out of her mouth and she then upped my petosin for the 3rd time. Finally about 11 I asked for my epidural and then got a narcotic as an appetizer (I loved both my nurse and anasthetic guy at that point) At this point I was only 3 cm dialated and she was @ -2 (Not very far)

Long story made shorter... After 14 hours of labor and all the petosin in the world, DR said it was time for surgury and I didn't have a choice in the matter. So I called DH, and prepped myself for surgury. In the OR before they let my mom come in I had a moment of freak out (no one was talking to me) and my heart rate rocketed. They never even told me they were going to knock me out or try to calm me. A couple seconds later I was being woken by the Drug guy and I heard my baby girl gry for the first time. I couldn't move and I needed to caugh (i didn't know what i could or couldn't do... couldn't get a good cough) I saw my mom and coach and started bawling. I got to meet Lilly and see her then they put me back under b/c I was freaking out again and needing to throw up again)

In the Recovery room I watched the clock wanting to get back to my room to see my folks and hold my Lilly. When I got back up there Lilly was waiting (my mom made sure no one held her before me, that made my MIL and SIL crazy ha) and my DH was on the phone waiting to talk to me. All we could do was cry. Then I got to finally hold her at almost 11 pm and could hardly function b/c i was still out of it.

Sunday we finally got to go home and DH surprized me 8 hours early at our house before I headed up to my mom's house. (Csection couldn't be left alone) He drove all night just to get to us early and was home 2 days before he had to go back to work. My frind was there with her camera and as able to get our first moments as a family on that Sunday!

Noah was born underweight and had low blood sugar. so had to be in the Nicu for a week! amazing how the happiest day of your life can be so sad when your baby is hooked up to an iv and monitors. But now he is a happy,and healthy chunky monkey.

My water broke May 22 @ 38 weeks. After 17 hours of labor and only dilating 3 cm we decided a C-section was the best option because of the risk of infection. At 5:03 pm, they literally pried Corbin out at a shocking 10.5 pounds. They estimated him being 8.5 pounds at my ultrasound the day my water broke. We were just happy to finally be able to hold our "little-big" man.

I was induced after being overdue by one day. I arrived at the hospital at 10am on Sunday and a nurse didn't come in to hook me up to monitors until after noon. I was put on pitocin around 1 then I waited and waited. The nurse told me I was progressing slower than a first time mom so I got frustrated and started crying I just wanted so badly to hold my baby girl in my arms. Right at the end of that nurses shift the doctor broke my water at 7:15pm my mom had asked the doctor how much longer it might be and he said that was all up to her daughter and little granddaughter, then I started feeling uncomfortable. At 7:40 when my hubby and mom came back into the room I told them they had better get the nurse I felt funny , they got the nurse, she hollered for the Doctor who got in the room at 7:44 and after 3 pushes at 7:51 Jordyn was here.

However contractions didn't start and I was able to have a spinal and a nice calm c/s at 8 am in the morning.

I was having lil pains so i stayed up watching movies and writing down the time of the contractions and how long they were because i din't want to show up at the hospital too early and i didn't want to freak out my bofriend to early!!!lol I also thought my water broke on the toilet which never happened, so six hours later when it was time to push they realized they had to break my water. Birth Story: I was overdue so they decided to induce me, I was in labour for 12 hours pushed for 2 & 1/2 and the doctor ended up using the vacuum to get him out. There was 5 other women in labour at the same time including my Aunt and 1 doctor delivering, so once my son was out they left me there well he delivered another baby then came back to get the placenta out and stitch me up. Not a very good experience but worth it in the end. My son and my cousin ended up being born on the same day exactly 2 hours apart, my cousin was due in July but is doing good and is almost as big as my son.

Finally at about 11 they hooked me up on potocin and after uping it a few times She finally slipped out and landed on the bed while the nurse was watching tv and the doc was gone.

Birth Story: My water broke on the morning of the 25th. Went into the hospital in the afternoon after spending the morning trying on my own to get labor going. I was put on pitocin, labored through the night, and delivered Isaac at 7:30am on the 26th.
As with my daughter, I chose to avoid pain medication. I had a midwife for this delivery and it was wonderful! I highly recommend it over an OB birth.

Wow!! I pushed for 3 1/2 hours with my first (born 2005) & I know how bad I felt afterwards!! 5 hours Geeez! that would have been hell! My son had a huge head & kept sucking back up after each push so finally they pulled him out with forceps (but they waited til his heart rate almost bloody stopped!) He weighed 8lb 6oz with a 36cm Head Circumference!

Story: Teacher, went on maternity leave Friday, two weeks before due date. Out and about on Saturday, around 5pm mentioned probably wouldn't know contractions when I had one. Started to feel some back pain and weird feeling lower abdomen right after I said that, baby still sitting pretty high on ribs. Went to Barnes and Noble to look at pregnancy for dummy's to see if in labor. Thought wait it out, go home, still feeling weird. Timed discomfort, not liking how close it was, called lamaze coach, she said get to hospital for test to see if leaking fluid. Got there around 10:20pm dialated to 3, admitted and within an hour in pain and dialated and ready to go. Gideon came at 12:09am Sunday. Had no time for any pain meds, doctor barely made it, nurse joked that next time get pregnant just stay at hospital because it all happened so fast. Our moms got there to hear the first cry, making a 30 minute trip in about 15 minutes!

Birth Story: I went into the hospital late at night on May 28th because of pain in my upper abdomen. I knew it was not contractions. This felt more like heartburn but heartburn that made me double over in pain and radiated through my back. We went to the maternity triage and they hooked me up to the monitors, drew blood, etc. Around 2 am, after being there for nearly 3 hours, I started contracting, but was still in a lot of pain. My lab work came back with elevated liver enzymes and low platelets. I had no idea what this meant but my blood pressure was also high, so I was admitted to a room for the night and given a shot of Noubain so I could sleep. We thought we were going to be there for the day for monitoring and sent home, but at 9 am the doctor came into my room and told me that I would be having a c-section within an hour because I had developed HELLP Syndrome. Evan was born at 10:56 am and was healthy enough to not have to go to the NICU. I was hooked up to an IV for the next 2 days with Magnesium so that I wouldn't hopefully have a seizure and I don't remember much about Evan's birthday or the following day until they finally turned off the meds and allowed me to shower on Saturday morning. Not exactly the birth story I'd hoped for, but in the end, my baby was healthy, I was healthy, and that was what was most important!

Birth Story: Just after Easter my OB noticed that my blood pressure was steadly going up and my bllod work was getting worse. She decided to refer me to a high risk doctor. After a few appointments, my new doctor decided to send me to the hospital for a NST after having a blood pressure reading of 150/87. After the NST he decided to admit me into the hospital, telling me that I was on strick bed rest with bathroom priveldges only, and that I would not be leaving the hospital without my baby. After 36 hours of not knowing what was going to happen, and my blood pressure raising to 164/105, and the protein in my urine being off the scale- my doctor decided that the baby needed to come out. After looking at past ultrasounds, he determined that the baby had not grown for two weeks and that he would most likely be better off outside then in. However he felt that labor would make my blood pressure worse and he did not know if either of us would make it and be healthy, so off to the OR we went for a c-section. Ethan was born 3 weeks early to the day, but growthwise he was 5 weeks early.

Probably caused the bleed as well. But all went well after that!

Birth Story: 20 hour labor, born at home at 6:24 am on my great-grandpa's birthday. My birthday is the 9th lol. No doctors, no nurses ... everything went great. Only downfall was that it wasn't a planned homebirth ... she needed oxygen so we went in to the hospital where we were treated horribly. I got post traumatic stress disorder from the week long hospital stay (sad I know) and my invading inlaws, but the homebirth itself was fantastic. Next time though, a midwife in a hospital because we live in the country.

Well I was watching "P.S I love you" with my fiancee...he wasn't too fond of it and went to bed...I stayed up...at about midnight I started to feel a little weird and crampy(and it was a full moon)..I knew this was it...but I stayed home all night, pretty much tried to sleep in the bath tub! At 10am I couldn't take it anymoer and as we were getting ready to leave for the hospital(a 45 minute drive) my water broke....I got to the hospital halfway there(5 cm dilated)....BRING ON the epidural!! After the life saving epidural I took a nap..when I woke up it was time to get pushing, I was fully dilated and ready to go! I pushed for 20 minutes and there she was, my beautiful angel!!

I went in to labour on Sunday night at around 6:00pm and never had her until Tuesday morning at 12:18am. I was very very long. She was stuck in my pelvis so i was not contracting properly. After all that time i was only 5 cm so I had her by C-section. Then during that i felt them inside me so that rushed my husband out and put me to sleep. LETS HOPE THE NEXT ONE IS MUCH BETTER!!

Birth Story: Aizlyn was born on base so that was an experience all in itself. she didnt really want to come out and her heartrate would drop everytime i pushed...it was really scary . they had to use forceps as she didnt want to budge at the end and her heartrate had dropped pretty low so they had to get her out. she was beautiful and healthy though and everything i could have imagined. my epidural didnt work so that was painful becuase i could feel the contractions but was pretty much paralized from the waist down from the epidural so i couldnt move my legs to clench through them. my poor husband i had to keep telling him, bend my leg ok straighten my leg :)

I was due May 31 expecting my first child and he decided to come early! The night before I went into labour, I was complaining that I was just so tired and felt so much pressure and wanted him to come out. I awoke the next morning, it was a Saturday, the very first time I'd slept in since I was pregnant, went to the bathroom, and as I was getting off the toilet...my water broke! At this point, I was terrified, it was my first and I was so scared. I called th hospital, they told me relax, eat something, shower and come in. My water broke at 11:45am, I was admitted to the hospital at 1:30pm and waited til 4:30. The doctor came in, and they now had to induce me because I was not dialting but my water had broken. I was hooked up to these IV's to avoid infection as well. By 8:30pm I was in hard labour. I decided I would try my hardest to avoid the epidural as long as I could...that lasted 3 hours! They thought it would happen that night, then thought I"d need a C section...LOL...got my epidural by 11:30ish...didn't sleep the whole night, by the next late morning, I was so frustrated and started to be in so much pain, the doctor had to give me 2 shots of Morphine. I passed out for about 4 hours. I woke up and was like get this baby out of me now...one way or another...it'd already been over 24 hours!
They checked me and I was ready...my beautiful first born child was born at 5:09pm Mother's Day...the most important, amazing, beautiful moment in my life.
We stayed in the hospital for another 4 days because he was born 3 weeks early and had jaundice. I'll always remember finally leaving the hospital and heading home with my new family! I could never have done it without my loving caring and supportive boyfriend, my very best friend (and Mattias Godmother) and of course, my own mother and grandmother.

Birth Story - I was induced due to history of big babies. My mom picked me up the morning of my admission (so my husband could get the other kiddos to school). I was started on Pitocin about 7:00am, they broke my water about noon. With little progress throughout the day, the thought of a C-Section scared me. Things got really intense about 7pm and Alyssa was born at 7:50pm, after about 5 minutes of pushing. My husband, mom and Friend Monica were there for the delivery. My older children were there 15 minutes after my delivery.

We went to the hospital just to get checked out and they told me I had to have the baby. They gave me cervadil and then they were going to induce me in the morning with pitocin. I prayed throughout the night that I would deliver without having to be induced and at 4:48 that morning, Abigail Sophia arrived with only about 5 minutes of pushing. They actually wanted me to hold off so that the doctor could arrive. Abby had to be in the NICU for about 5 days. Her breathing at birth was labored and then she had some problems with jaundice. By the time I took her home, she was only 4 lbs, 4 oz. I felt like I was going to break her. She's now up to 12 lbs 12 ounces.

Birht story: This is the story I wrote a week after Tracker was born, no alterations sorry so long:

My little boy came late late Thursday night, the 29th of May! I started contractions about 3:30 am that morning. They were coming about 7-10 min apart, but then stopped completely for a couple hours around 9 am. They started up again, but were really inconsistent, anywhere from 7 to 30 min apart. I just relaxed at home with my mom, dh and 2 ds. Got on the birthing ball, took a couple baths, tried to relax and not work to hard, not knowing how long this would be going on. Then about 5:00 pm the contractions were getting more intense and I was feeling sharp pains as the baby was moving down (kind of like he had horns on his head). So I told dh it was time to head to the hospital, praying that my instincts were right, that I was getting very close. So we got to the hospital and they immediately admitted me, knowing that I'd been contracting since early this morning. They checked me & I was 8 cm!! Woohoo! I have to say, everyone was wonderful, all the nurses read my birth plan and were more than willing to go along with everything! Which included no heparin lock!! We then immediately took advantage of the jacuzzi tub (Oh so nice!) and I labored in there for about an hour, not yet feeling the urge to push. But the pain was so intense, as I was having back labor. Then I decided to get on the hospital's birthing ball and do a few contractions there, I love birthing balls! I then started feeling the urge to push, so I got up on the bed, with the head up and knelt towards it, not facing my mw. This felt pretty good, and my placenta was right there, ready to burst any push. And it did, and it got everywhere!! Such a good feeling- I think everyone got a little wet. After the placenta burst, my mw suggested to get off the bed & stand up facing my dh w/hands held and the bed in between us. And for every push/contraction, we squatted down, arms resting on the bed, with my mw behind me ready to catch. Well, I pushed and pushed that baby, it took about 3 pushes to get his head completely out, and a few more for his shoulders, and then he slipped right out! Wow, I forgot how it felt to push the head through, but it was intense, I was screaming!! That little boy came out beautifully and my mw handed him to me through my legs (umbilical cord still attached)! It was a wonderful birth, everything I'd wanted and planned. All the L&D nurses and my mw felt honored to be present at the birth of my little boy, and let us know what a great experience it was. Little Tracker Paul was 8lb 1oz and 21 inches long, born 11:48pm on May the 29th. Two days before my birthday, a wonderful birthday present! :)

I had normal bp, but was extremely swollen until almost 35 wks when bp started to rise. Was put on bedrest immediately Ended up in the ER the night before Mother's Day b/c of what I thought was bronchitis, but was really high bp. Was discharged because bp went down to normal. By the time I went to OB that Monday, bp was up again. Baby was fine, so I was sent home to rest. Went back to OB 2 days later, bp was up again, so she sent me to the hospital to be evaluated by the fetal maternal specialist to see how long we could wait (hoping to hold out until 37 weeks). So many women already waiting in line to see the specialist, so I spent the night. At 7:30am, my OB came in the next morning, said he didn't like my bp numbers, so he said we'd start inducing me as soon as I was done seeing the specialist. At around 9:00am, finally went in for ultrasound with specialist. He said overall, baby looked good, but didn't look like he had gained weight in a few weeks, so he agreed with my OB's decision. I was wheeled back in my room and hooked up to fluids, then an hour later, magnesium sulfate to help control my bp. At noon, they started the pitocin. After an hour, I measured nothing (no dilation, no effacement). Contractions started at some point, and didn't seem to bad compared to how the magnesium made me feel. At 8pm, I was checked again by the midwife, and still nothing. OB came in 5 minutes later, said that he was not happy with how I was doing (bp still very high), so we were going in for a c-section. Everything after that went very quickly. He was born at 8:52pm, completely healthy. Never needed NICU, just kept under warming lamp for the 1st 24 hours until he was able to keep his body temp up. Now he's a moose!

birth story- was very fed up of being overdue and was due for an induction on sunday the 1st june but thankfully started going into labour on the thursday morning. Didnt really do anything exciting just made sure the house was clean, had a bath and me and my partner had dinner together in the evening, my waters didnt break and i think i was in denial about being in labour. went down the hospital late at night , had a failed epidural and just had pethidine, the doctors broke my waters at 3.30 am and aiyana was born at 7. 15 am so was a short and very painful labour in al!
