Grinding Teeth??

My sons 3rd tooth cut through at the top aswell, hes been making grinding noises this morning. Glad hes not the only one doing it.

my daughter does that on occasion too!! i'm relieved to know it isn't just her! lol she doesn't do it a lot anymore, but there for a while she would do it every time she was eating!! it grossed me out, so i tried to nip it in the bud fast! haha

Kinsley grinds her teeth too. She has 4 and is working on the "fang" teeth right now. She does it just as other mom's have said, once she gets a new tooth. It worried me at first thinking it was harmful to her new little "pretties" but she stopped after a few days. It's a shrieking noise isn't it? Yikes!

Oh my goodness!!! Mine does too and it drives me crazy because it gives me chills everytime!!! Is it normal?? She has two top and two bottom teeth now and she just recently started the grinding thing.

i cant tell u how happy i am that sierra isnt the only one..lol she has 4 teeth on the top and 4 on the bottom! i hate the sound of grinding!  my doctor told me to squeeze her cheeks and tell her to stop,...yeah right..she thinks its funny and now a game!!

My son will also grind his teeth. He currently has 8 teeth, 4 on top and 4 on bottom. He has had 8 teeth since Christmas but only started to grind his teeth in Feb. After a few weeks of major grinding of the teeth, he just stopped doing it one day.

yes, my 10 month old has 2 teeth on bottom and 2 teeth on top, and he grinds his constantly, it drives me crazy!!!!!!!! and sometimes i cant stop him, other times i find its good to tell him no and kinda try to touch his mouth or his teeth and gums, and sometimes its a risk puttin gmy fingers that close (lol) but he will eventually learn not to do it, he is actually learning no quite well.

My daughter's been grinding her teeth for months now. She does it constantly. At first it was just something new and interesting, now she does it when she gets bored. I've had to talk to her doctor about it because she's getting white spots on her teeth from grinding them so hard. He basically said that there was nothing he could do since she's so young and to distract her from it as much as possible. When she starts doing it I give her something to chew on or eat or I start a new game with her. It's helping and I'm hoping she will forget about it and move on to some other bad habit soon lol!

Matthew has 7 teeth now. He does the same thing every time a new one comes through. Drives me nuts! I think its just because it feels different. Once he's used to the new tooth, he seems to stop until the next one comes through.

As soon as Rylie cut her top two teeth about a week ago, she started grinding her teeth together. It drives me nuts.  I am hoping it's just a discovery thing and it doesn't become a habit.  I try to offer her something to teeth on when she does this. I also tell her no. I don't know how much that helps, but I figure maybe she'll pick up on that it's not a good thing to do.

My daughter has 4 teeth and does this constantly I try giving her other things to chew on but she would much rather make that horrid noise! I just hope she grows out of that...

My son must be odd? He does it several times a day. He has 9 teeth so far but there seems to be no connection. His Dr. said not to worry about it.

My daughter was doing the same thing when her two top teeth were coming through. I asked my aunt (a dental higenist) about it one day when she stopped over. She said that almost every baby does it and most of them grow out of it... so nothing to worry about at this point...

I agree mine did it when he had a new tooth come through on the top too. Try and distract him when he does it and eventually they stop

My little boy has done this a few times he has 7 teeth and every time a new one comes through he starts doing it. It only lasts a few days maybe a week. I think it's just because there is something new in his mouth and maybe it seems fun?! :/ Dont think its anything to worry about unless it gets really bad and he starts to damage his teeth -not sure if thats possible tho?!
