My 20 month old son has developed red bumps around his mouth, chin, and nose area. I'm assuming it's b/c he may be getting his 2 year molars. Does anyone have any experience with this type of symptom?

My son has a red spot on the corner of his mouth, it's been there for 1 week or so, it kinda looks like a cold sore but it's not. I think it's from him putting his fingers in his mouth all the time. Maybe from his finger nail.

Oh yes! My daughter gets them alot! If she eats anything tomatoe based or if she gets the greese on her face from foods. It usually goes away. I usually wash her face with mild soap and water. If it persist of course, I would see a doctor.

Is it after eating, it could be a skin contact allergy., my sons had it with dairy but they they have now grown out of it and the peadiatrician says to keep letting them eat it.

Our doc recommended Neutrogena hand cream (it comes in a small white tube) to help keep irritants away from the face and help the sores heal... since everything goes to the mouth/face at this age.

I took him to his ped. and she said that the bumps were most likely from teething. She said that it looks like he's getting one of his 2 year molars and to keep his face dry and clean. Thank you for your posts ladies!

My son has had something like that more than once. I think it's mostly allergies (to cats and sunblock) in his case. However, once it was a fungal infection. Check with the Dr. if it persists.

It could just be baby acne/clogged pores. I have experienced it with my 20 month old daughter, but it is on the back of her arms and legs. It just showed up last summer, and hasn't gone away. I have talked to her pediatrician about it, but he says it is nothing to be concerned about. I do plan on stressing my concerns again at her next appt. I'm hoping they will give me some advice on how to get rid of it. Good luck with you too!
