Hi everyone,

Welcome to the May 2008 Babies community, where we chat about our May 2008 children and whatever else is on our minds!

To get things started, I thought it would be nice if we all introduced ourselves in this thread, which will be pinned to the community home page. Whether you're a Circle of Moms veteran or you're new to the site, let us know who you are, what you’re interested in, and what your lovely May 2008 child is up to right now, developmentally speaking!

Hi I'm Kharlly, I'm a new mother. I have a May 2008 boy, he is Jaccob. I got his name in the bible and I just added the letter "C" to make it unique. From the day that I found out that I am going to be a mother, I am super excited. I love him very much, even if I haven't seen him. I decided to be a full time mom for him, because I wanted to see all of his milestones. Now he is 2 years old and 7 days old, he already knows a lot of things. He can say his full name, though sometimes he doesn't want to say it, he says beautiful words like "please", "thank you", "take care" and the most beautiful words of "i love you mommy".

My name is Amy and I'm from Toronto, Ontario. My daughter was born in the very wee hours of May 18th by forceps after I was in labour for nearly 23 hours, awake for 72 with labour pains and pushing for almost four. She is indeed our miracle child. She is working on reading but she loves to make up her own stories. She has an incredibly capacity for memory and we've been working on her letters, numbers, colours and shapes. I cannot believe how well she is doing! She learned her alphabet before 18 months, as well as how to count to 20. She is working on her shapes and colours now and she astounds me every day. She chatters up a storm, seems to know a bit of Mandarin and daily comes out with full, coherent sentences. Vesper just blows me away. Oh, and I'm interested in reading as well as becoming a famous author in the young adult fiction genre.

~L~ Michelle, my daughter's first few words were 'What's that' and she usually said them over and over when I was reading a book. Used to drive me nuts. Someday we will miss these days. :)

Hi my name is Amy, We live in CLaremont, California. I have two kids, my daughter Kaitlyn was born August 4, 2006 and was nine pounds 3 ounces. My son, Nicholas was born May 9, 2008, he was six pounds seven ounces. He ended up up being born at 36 weeks, I was due on June 2. I think it was because I did alot of walking while I was pregnant with him. I am a stay at home mom, and it can be very trying at times. We try to make the most of it by walking to the park occasionally, but having one car is hard. I just feel like I'm trapped at home sometimes. There is only so far that you can walk. But, I love my life as Mommy and Wife!!!

Hello. I'm Christina, my daughter is Alexandria but we call her Ali. She is rambunctious, loves to jump on the bed, and is in love with the Shrek movies, especially Donkey. I am 26, she will be two May 21st, next Friday. I married my husband, Justin almost a year ago. He is a great father, although a little too paranoid about Alis safety. We had been engaged for 3 1/2 years before we got married. We could never decide on a date and during that time we decided to go ahead and start our family.

He was born by c-section and stopped breathing when he came out so he was in NICU for a few days but nothing was wrong. He still to this day likes to hold his breath when he doesn't get his way. He is my everything and these toddler years I have found to be the most stressful

Well, this is my first time on this site and Ive already fallen in love with it! Unfortunately, I dont have regular access to the net right now but hope to soon.

My May 2008 baby is a surviving twin. This is very very hard to deal with especially when my Bella does new things. But we must all continue on and enjoy her to the max and try not to be too sorrowful. She is really coming along with her words and her (step)dad and I are very thrilled that she is able to make it very obvious what she needs even if it's mispronounced. She even lets us know when she needs to be changed but doesnt seem to be ready for the potty yet.

Im sad that my baby isnt too much of a baby anymore but she's only coming up on 2 so...thats still a mama's baby, right?

Besides my Bella (Isaiah is her twin brother's name), I have 3 other children. James. 11, Grace 9, and Donovan 5. I have been going through a divorce from my younger 2 children's father as he was toxic to all of us and since then, I am in a relationship with the man Ive wanted for 4 years. (Long story on everything but Ill say my marriage was over before it started and my ex went back to his old cheating ways so I walked) We have been together for just under a year so far and it's been the best year of all our lives. He is better to all my children than their fathers are. (only 2 fathers, not a diff dad for each!) Life is finally looking up for my family.

I cant begin to explain how much I appreciate her and all of her amazing little mile stones, having 3 children before 1 girl and 2 boys, all quite a bit older than her and now I understand how very fast our children grow up and to stop and appreciate every aspect of the different stages they go through as they learn and absorb all that life has to offer. I am so thankful I have had the opportunity to have all of my gorgeous children and to be a stay at home Mum. :)

My name is Jennifer, known to friends as Jenn. I have a beautiful, smart, curly-blonde haired daughter named Carolynn, birthday May 27, 2008. We are from Bellingham, Washington, a part of the wonderful Pacific Northwest. I am sort of new to Circle of Moms, I read and reply to blog posts every once in a while, but as you all know, two year olds keep you quite busy!! My husband and I are expecting a son in May, due the 20th. They are going to have really close birthdays, which is quite exciting. We are interested in reading books, watching movies, and walking through the beautiful trails that Bellingham has to offer. We go to the local Farmers Market every Saturday from April to October and get our fresh fruits and veggies for the week to come. Carolynn loves going for walks and taking long baths with mommy. She doesn't like to play in the tub like other kids, she just lays there with me, relaxing after a long day of fun and playing. I am a full-time online college student through the University of Phoenix, and my husband is going to full-time online college as well, through Westwood College. My daughter can say her ABCs, up to P usually without prompting. She counts to three, and can name and point to every body part she has!!

He talks a LITTLE and can read the ABC's (but does not know the song) Also can read numbers 1-13 and sort of counts but somtimes misses a number. I really wish he would talk more because it would probably prevent a lot of tantrums/outbursts! He loves to watch The Little Einsteins on the Disney Channel. Also loves Elmo and Thomas the Train videos. I think he watches to much tv by todays standards but it ALWAYS calms him down and lets me get a few things done during the day. (currently I'm a SAHM)

She is my world, she was born with hip displactia (dislocated hips) and had to go through two surgerys her whole first year. So let just say i had to see my daughter go through so much her first year. Right now she is very active, stubborn, loud, very playful, smart, and full of life. She loves playing and answering phones all the time, the only thing is when it comes to food what eve r she sees people eat she wants, so she eats anything and everything. I really dont have a babysitter because i dont really like to go out as much and if i do i talke her with me. I found a guy who fell in love with her and me and is willing to marry me with everything, so right now were planning a wedding. She loves him more then anything because of the way he plays with her and treats her. Her father is not really part of her life as much but she does love to see him when he does stop by to see her.Other then that i love my little girl more then anything since shes gods gift to me..

Hi there, my name is Stacey, 24, and i am the proud mother of one son, Baillie born May 19th 2008. He is the cutest kid ever but every mum thinks that about their own!

We live in Whakatane, New Zealand, i would love to know if anyone else o here is from NZ!

My interests include scrapbooking and crafty sort of stuff but i dont seem to put the time aside for myself to do it often enough! Baillie is a very energetic, healthy and happy boy who is on the go 24/7. He is very social but is having trouble with the whole sharing thing at the moment, being an only child can be tough. But we are working on that with some of my friend's children.

I am thinking around his 2nd birthday that i will try him in a big boys bed! But we might play that one by ear! lol Potty training isnt an issue yet, he's not quite ready for it. His vocab is pretty extensive going from the simple day to day words to animal noises and nursery rhymes, "twinkle, twinkle" is his favourite and he knows most of the words.

Well thats us, i look forward to getting to know some of you. :)

He's a very energetic little boy with an infectious giggle, he is into everything and loves climbling (he has no fear which worries me to death sometimes), he's just starting to put words together 'whats that' is his favourite so far.
He's got nearly all his teeth but has recently started to bit other children which I'm trying to stop, we havent really started potty training yet, he has one and likes to get it to sit on but wont use it yet!.
He can be a bundle of joy but also a nightmare (usually when food shopping or not getting his own way!) but I wouldnt change it for the world

Hi. My name is Melanie. I'm new to Circle of Moms. My daughter is Catherine. Catie for short. I'm 27.

I'm interested in getting and giving advice. Meeting mothers with children in the same age group. :) Being a stay at home mom, development, nutrition and finding age appropriate activities are my main concern.

Developmentally speaking, Catie doesn't talk too much. But surprizes me by using a full sentence, like "I will turn the light on." or "Pour water on me." (In the bathtub.) She generally has a good appitite. She points to numbers and trys to count everything. She only says her favorite animals and shapes. But she will point them out if asked. We haven't attempted potty training yet. But her favorite movie is "Elmo's potty time" and she has been asking me to put her on the potty occasionally since the fall of 09. More often than not she does go when she askes to be put on the potty. So I am looking forward to the experience. However her father is going to help the Earthquake victims in Haiti in a couple months and I don't want her to have to worry about potty training and her daddy being away. So we will do it either from her prompting or when he gets home. She has a great sense of humor and always flashes me a smile when I look into her eyes :)

Hey there! My name is Danielle and I have two toddlers: Isaac will be 4 in June and Zeba will be 2 in May. We are a military family and have finally reached a place we can call home for the first time since my son has been born. I stay home with the kids because I really feel it would be impossible to have a successful marriage and household if I was to work given my husband's flying schedule. I'm new to Circle of Moms and really most of my interests circle around whatever my family demands me to know. I'm a guru at laws, pay changes, relocation, finances, and broadly any subject on the ASVAB. My daughter will be 2 on the 27th and she's wonderful. Although she's peaked at her drama queen state, she is considerate, responsive, and hilarious. She prefers animals to kids and computers to people. I hope she will expand her vocabulary, but truly she has exceeded my goals for her at this point! I hope I can help anybody that might need it and vice versa. :)

Alot of people dont believe me when i tell him he is not even 2 yet. I love every day with him and being able to watch him grow and learn new things.
