my daughter is 9 months and is a pretty good eater, that is if it is something she can pick up and feed herself. i was wondering if you had any other suggestions for fingerfood. we already do cut up green beans, peas, sweet potatoes, bananas, cheerios, waffles and grahm crackers. she is kind of funny because she doesnt really like fruits as much as she likes veggies....anything you found that your kids really like?

my daughter absolutely must feed herself at the moment too, and she loves sandwiches! what i do is buy a loaf of bread, make the whole loaf up in different sandwiches and then cut them into 4 triangles, mix them all up and place 4 different ones in bags and freeze them. then i just take them out of the freezer an hour or so before lunch and she gets variety too, they are great to take out shopping, and they slowly defrost in the bag. other than that she loves cheese, arrowroot biscuits, pasta, and i have started adapting our meals to suit her. like i was doing a curry the other night, and i just didnt add the curry sauce to hers, i gave her the chicken, rice and vegies and let her feed herself most of it, but fed her a little bit at the end, it is messy but they love it :)

diced baked potato, steamed broccoli, corn, avacado, canned (in juice) peaches, pears, and fruit cocktail (minus the grapes), we do oven roasted parsnips, turnips, creamed spinach (in small amounts due to nitrates), tunafish, salmon, canned chicken, elbow macaroni, rotini pasta (cut in half), and those gerber crunchies. That is what I can think that Calleigh has had in the last week or so.

Little strips of Nori (seaweed) are a hit! So nutritious too.

My son loves squash and if you buy one chop it into sticks and blanch it, you get loads and i pop it in portion size bags in the freezer and just heat one up when i need it, it seems to melt in the mouth.

My baby is the same way. She also likes diced cooked carrots, pancakes, blueberry pancakes (if you use the frozen wild blueberries they become very soft when cooked), cooked pasta - elbow macaroni or the picollini farfalle (small bowtie pasta). For dinners I'll so pasta, carrots, and peas in a bowl for her.
Pieces of banana bread, or cut up jam sandwich, string cheese or cheese crumbles as someone else mentioned. Be careful with cheese though cause it can cause constipation if she eats too much. If I give her cheese I usually pair it with fruit, she really likes nice ripe pears.

My son loves just about anything. He likes the crumbled cheese that Kraft makes. he also likes pancakes. We just went to the doctor today for his 9 month check up and we were told that he could eat anything as long as there's no seeds, strings or skin on the food. Other food that my first son loved was the Gerber ravioli and meat sticks. My youngest also likes pasta and will eat up the pasta from chef boyrdee (SP). Oh, he also likes apples which I peel the skin off and then cut into wedges for him. He likes chicken nuggets (minus the breading if possible) and veggie lasagna. I don't think I've found much he doesn't like (except the stage three foods). Good luck.

We haven't tried it yet, but Ive heard lots of babies love alvacado.  I have tried string cheese and they seem to like it but some times it is spit back out.
