My son as of two days ago suddenly starting crying when I leave him at his daycare! He used to completely ignore me when I dropped him off and now, he doesn't want me to leave him, even though he has been at that same day care since he was eight weeks old. He has also been waking up more at night and crying more at bedtime when we put him down. He has all his teeth but the very last set of molars. I feel like separation anxiety showed up in the blink of an eye! I just know I have to stay strong and comfort his feelings, but not give in to the point that I create a little spoiled child. It is a delicate balance, for sure.

Earlier this month my son did the exact same thing!! He started to wake in the middle of the night, cranky, crabby, clingy...Just the last few days he has started to get a little better with it. We did about a week of waking at night, but will still scream his head off any time we start the night time routine. He screams in his crib for about 2 min and then falls asleep. The vacuum used to never scare him, now he screams when I turn it on if I am not holding him. My son has been working on his very last molar for the past month as well...Hopefully it will pass and get better soon for you. I know my son is driving me nutty with his change in personality.

Hopefully its the teeth! 4 at once is pretty hard. But even if it's not, it might just be a phase. I actually have noticed lately that my son is super attached to me, now that you bring it up. I am home with him all day and we don't have any family around to babysit so he is always with me, but even still, whenever he is upset, he comes up to hug me, even if my husband is around. He's never been like that before. At play dates, he now comes up to me a lot more. I wonder if maybe this is just a "clingy" age. He also will start crying so badly at loud noises, other kids crying, etc. Sounds like the world is coming to an end!
I'm curious to see if anyone has any insight for you and what might be going on. Hang in there! Losing sleep always makes everything a whole lot harder.

That's tough. I think it's part of growing up and being more aware. Has he got his molars yet? My son was a WRECK for that 3 month process.
