My 16 month old has been in this none stop crying for a few weeks now. I have done everything, even took her to the doctor, which always says she is healthy no matter what my concern may be. Now my concern is what is wrong am I not doing something right or is something wrong with her. I get sooo fustrated not knowing if something is wrong or if she just wants to cry.

I just read that you said she wasn't teething, but even if nothing is physically exposed doesn't mean they aren't moving around in the gums....I would try some teething tablets, or some orajel.

how about teeth? if she's cutting alot of teeth right now (like mine is) then they are miserable. Just a thought.

My daughter rarely cries...she'll throw a tantrum and rolls on the floor if she can't go outside or something, but she's just never been much of a crier. I learned the hard way to go with your gut feeling about doctors. It's not all about finding someone that'll agree with you, it's about finding one you can effectively communicate with that will take the time you (or your child) needs to get proper care. ...And it can be really hard to find one. I've had better luck with doctors with their own practice or a small group of 3 or 4 that's independent; they just seem to care more about the patient than corporate doctors do.

If you want an allergy test, and want it before you find a new doctor, you could take her to the health department. They do them, but I'm not sure how much they are.

I would take her to a chiropractor. A little fall or something may have misalligned her neck or back- and Lord knows they are all over the place at this age!!

If you want to try the check for food allergies, and easy thing to do at this age is do 1st day water, real apple juice and apples. 2nd day real grape juice and grapes, 3rd day pick another fruit she'll eat. It's just for a few days so don't worry about meats and such. Do you still breastfeed? If so, keep doing that too. If she's much different by day 2 or 3, it may be a food and start introducing foods back in one day at a time.

I feel for you. Could she just need some juice sometimes all they need is something to suck on, My 16 month still drinks at nigth and when I tryed to stop it she would cry all nigth and wake the whole house so I just give it to her, may you could try it. And I hope everything works out.

Another thing is she could be backed up!? Even if she is pooping she can still be backed up. Try no cheese not even mini go's (they are cheese too) and no bananas for a week and see if that helps! Give her baby fruit for a bit to see if that works things through. Just a thought.

Also on the whole alergy test thing, the kids are too young and can't be tested until they are 4! Sucks I know!

Good luck! :o)

If she constantly cries even when you hold her and do calming measures that worked before and you can't see anything different I would get a second opinion. A few ideas: Teething. Even if it wasn't a big deal before, molars are a different story! Did she fall recently? My daughter hurt her hand and since she couldn't tell us where it hurt it took a few hours to figure it out, a lil tylenol and avoiding pressure on that spot worked wonders. And here's the bad mom story, any bad foods? My daughter spent half a day after a nice breakfast crying for what I thought was no reason and teething meds that normally worked now didn't. I eventually gave her gripe water, I used that when she was an infant, you have to give 10mls to a toddler! Anyways she took a long nap and back to my happy angel. When we sat down to lunch I discovered I had fed her soured milk! And she drank it all, ewww. I should get fired from mom duty sometimes :) Hope your daughter feels better soon.

Could she possibly be allergic to something I not know it... like be internally?? I asked her doc to do an alergy test but she said no... So i think to start a different doc right??

She actually continues to cry when I hold her too... weird I know... I think I will go to a second doc and just see what they can do...

If your instinct tells you something is wrong, go with it. Around this age, they are scared a lot, and it causes clinginess. They cut more teeth, and it causes pain. They are right around a growth spurt (depending on when yours has them), and those can hurt, too. But, they are wanting that independence...and it's so scary to leave Momma.

If it doesn't sound like any of those, I'd go to another doctor for a second opinion. Crying like you speak of is not normal. You never know, it could be simple as indigestion. Doesn't mean she's "sick" per se, but that would be just cause for crying all the time.

I heard they go thru a second separation anxiety phase around this time. Is she fine when you hold her but cries when you leave? Especially clingy? Could be that.

uah you know thats why i say like its driving me insane not knowing whats wrong... it wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't all night too cuz then I can fully put my attention to her but its all day and night its so crazy. The doc said she is healthy there's nothing wrong and nothing to worry about it just doesn't sound right. Am i paranoid?

Hmm.. That's horrible to have to deal with. My daughter did that a little bit for a while. But it turned out to be because she was teething and didn't know it.

No to both. I have checked her teeth even rubbed them to see if they are not yet broken through and there was none... and everything in the house is still the same... actually a bit happier than b4 so that's why its weird.

Is she teething or anything? Or has something just suddenly changed in the house?
