hey ladies,

i was wondering if any of you were still experienceing pain during intercourse. although i had a c-section, there was three hours of pushing beforehand. i am breastfeeding and know that that does affect personal lubrication, so we are using stuff to help that, but it still hurts. help!

I had a natural birth and needed stitches, I found after a few times where I got stitches didn't hurt so much, but I'm finding if the penetration is too deep it's quite painful still near the cervix area.

Sarah, I feel for you. I am in the same boat. I too had an emergency C-section after 2.5 hours of pushing. My doc prescribed an estrogen cream that is supposed to help thicken the uterine lining and therefore be less painful, but he also told me that some of the estrogen WOULD get into my bloodstream and I'm breastfeeding so after much back and forth with myself I decided against using it. Here's to hoping it gets better for all of us very soon!

Wow, You women are troopers! lol I believe I was told that some pain or discomfort would be really normal up to 6 months after giving birth. Personally, the first few times I was expecting pain ( I think it's post traumatic stress flashbacks!), so probaby more tense. It's been 6 months since I had my second daughter and am just now getting my sex drive back a bit and feeling more comfortable with my body. That being said, my friend had pain during sex and didn't get her period for a year afterward. When they decided to look into it further, they found that she had severe scarring on her uterine lining and she needed that to be taken care of.

I had issues until about 2 months afterwords then I felt fine. I had a horrible labor, (no epidural, and in labor for almost 24 hours), and several stitches since they had to use a vacuum to get him out. I've found only one position that isn't comfortable for me, but if it hurts try another position that doesn't put as much pressure on the spot that hurts.

Hi Sarah, I had an easy labour, barely two stiches and it has been painful for me until very recently. I found that the more often we did it, the less painful it got. Even though I was exhausted, I committed to doing it everyday for a week and since I have not had any pain, small discomfort but only for a few seconds. Make sure your partner gets you warmed up A LOT and try to relax, it can be hard when worrying if baby will wake up but the more tense you are, the more uncomfortable it will be. I apologize if this is too graphic, but we also stick to the missionary position for now because it is the most comfortable for me. It may depend on where you are having the discomfort but that is what works for me. Keep trying it does get better!

I had a natural birth (well with an epidural, but I pushed out my 9+ lb. baby) and it definitely still hurts at first..a little discouraging since I thought it would be better by now. I also had a huge episiotomy (sorry if this grosses anyone out!).
