My son is 7 months, & 20 lbs now! When do you switch carseats, & when do you turn them around?! Right now I am using the Graco Kingsley Travel-System.

You can't turn the forward facing until 1 year. As for the Nautilius, I know it can be used as a rear facing carseat. My son has one and absolutely loves it. Hope that helps!

If you are in the US you have to have your child in a rear facing seat until their 1st birthday AND over 20lbs. They are in the process of trying to get it changed to a higher weight and age. I would suggest you keep him rear facing until they are at least 25lbs. Most rear facing car seats will go up to 30-35lbs for rear facing. Even if their legs are touching the seat, it is still safer than forward facing. They can always bend their knees "Indian style".

I have always heard at twenty pounds you can put them in a seat like this as long as you have it hooked in rear facing and it has the five point harness and then we they are the age of one you can turn it around to face forward. All my friends have put their 7-9 months old when they his twenty pounds in seats like this and faced them rear facing. I can't wait until my son hits that mark and we will put him in his which is this exact seat!
