My son has also red cheeks.  Doctor said it's baby eczema and to use petroleum jelly or aquafor twice a day.  It seems to help but there are still times when it gets really red and bothers him.

My son doesnt drool to much but when he wakes up hes in tears screaming & it takes at least 5 to 10 minutes to get him to stop and as soon as I go to lie him down he starts screaming again. Do any of you go through this?

My son is now 8 mos old and has 8 teeth!! Each time about a week before the teeth cut through, his cheeks and chin would get red, dry, and flaky. I was given a prescription for it, but it is basically Eucerin cream and hyrdocordozone cream mixed together. He also drools A LOT more and will not give up his Nuk. I found Motrin works well for my son for the pain of teething. He now gets excited when he sees the bottle of Motrin.

My son has a rash on his face from drooling a lot. The doctor told me to put petroleum jelly on it, it helps a lot! He said it's baby eczema. My son wakes up crying in the night too. My pediatrician said it's because they are growing. Just let him go back to sleep on his own. Good luck!

Thanks for the info was the cream prescription or over the counter? I hope if its teething they come in soon he wakes up crying and screaming with one of those pain screams every night I feel so bad. Do you know much about allergies in little ones, I started him on mixed cereal a few days before this started happening and thought maybe he could be having a reaction to the wheat so I've stopped it to see if it makes a difference.

My daughter uses a pacifier and she gets dry spots wher the drool sits on her face. My doctir gave me some cream, called it dry skin, it is called Eucerin Original moisturizing creme. He said it was safe for her face, cleared it up in one use. \Is your son drooling alot? My daughters teeth took forever and there was no bump once they came they acrually was just a slit and there it was, you could only see a darker spot, when you felt it, it was more like an indentation. So his teeth are probably coming it is just breaking through without a bump.
