Seperation Anxiety?

Hi everybody. I'm hoping y'all might have some suggestions for me. During the day, my son David (born May 19th) is happy to play alone in his crib while I shower etc., but recently he has started getting quite upset if I leave him with his dad in the evenings while I run an errand or do something with my daughter. He gets so upset that he will no longer take a bottle of expressed milk which makes it even harder on my husband. Has anybody else started having these sort of seperation issues? And if so, do you have any suggestions on how to make it easier on my son and husband when I have to be away?

My son was also born the same day and he doing exactly the same thing! Its only at night when hes tired and he does it with anyone but me. His Doctor told me that its just a phase and that it means we did a good job creating a routine and bond between baby and mom......hang in there.....If me and my husband have somewhere to go, we go after he goes to bed now......hopefully it wont last too long!

Oh yes!!! It is hard to deal with and I always feel bad leaving my husband feeling so helpless. The positive side of it all is that you are doing a great job a teaching your son that you are reliable and he can count on you. But now your husband needs to "teach" him that. You have earned and now daddy needs to do the same. It just takes time. Maybe leave the house for shorter amounts of time...instead of being gone for 1.5 hours, maybe just go for 30 mins. and work up to more.
He is just going thru a phase and will outgrow it (I am sure you know all this though). It is so hard to know what to do, especially when you just want to leave for a bit.
