Ok so I know everyone's baby is almost 1 year old!! I was just wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to wean them from a bottle? My daughter will be 11mths on 4/14 and takes 3 bottles/day. She has water or juice for breakfast lunch and dinner in her sippy cup. I was thinking of trying to start putting her formula in her sippy cup for her afternoon bottle andthen by the time we start milk she will already be used to getting it from the cup and not the bottle. I'd like to have her off the bottles no later than 15mths, but by 12-13mths if it's doable. Any suggestions or ideas?

My doc suggested putting cold milk in a sippy cup, so when it is time to drink milk, she'll be used to it and the coldness of it. She said most babies won't have anything to do with cold milk because they are used to warm formula/breast milk.

That's what we've been doing.  He doesn't drink much from the cup, but what he does get is cold milk and he doesn't seem to mind it.

Matthew still doesn't drink well from a sippy cup. He'd rather shake it than drink from it. I probably should start working on it a little more with him. I'm not going to put formula in it though - we'll do milk and water only.

Let me know how this goes! I tried putting formula in my daughters sippy (since she drinks water and juice from it fine) but it is a no go. I figure when I start her on normal milk I'll just put that in a sippy and not in a bottle. I think she has an association thing going on b/c she won't drink water from a bottle but will from a sippy.

yea I will see how it goes!  She has drank  a little bit from the sippy cup but not much.  Just going to keep trying I guess!  My daughter is the same way!

I think your idea about putting formula in a sippy to replace the afternoon bottle and where to start....good luck!
