Taking baby to the beach....

Hi there! I live in Santa Cruz, CA and my little boy LOVES the beach. We at least walk there each day. I highly suggest getting a 'rashguard' for them to wear while they play in the sun. (It keeps the sun off their skin! So you won't be slathering them up with sunscreen every other minute). They have them at Old Navy right now. Also, take a small container of baby powder. Use it just before you leave on your feet and ankles to get the excess sand off before you get in the car. It works like magic.

well during the summer me and my son will be making trips out to the beach because my aunt has a cottage five mineuts away from a big lake! remember to take a lot of sun block and if your not against them i'd suggest a harness the first time they're there just to make sure they don't run into the water. im sure you know how fast those little legs can move when they're not suppose to go somewhere! i took my son to a beach when he was about three months old it wasn't as fun as it will be when he's 14 months but we just sat in a shady area. make sure you take a lot of band aids and toys! when i was little i always seemed to hurt myself at the beach!

I suggest not just a beach umbrella but a beach tent also. I brought my daughter to the beach last summer when she was just a few months old, had her covered and under an umbrella thinking she'd be fine. She ended up getting some sunburn on her face because the sun was reflecting off the sand. Just because they are in the shade under an umbrella doesn't mean they can't get burned. A beach tent at least protects from 3 sides. I had used the beach tent the day before the umbrella incident and she was fine. I figured I was making a quick trip to the beach and the umbrella would be enough but I was wrong. I learned my lesson the hard way.

everything in this list is a great idea! Also,  you deffently cannot forgot to bring the camera! =D

We are celebrating our sons and daughters bdays at the beach (providing the weather goes our way because its Autumn in australia)

Make sure you pack the "Lil swimmer" diapers! Those things are great. Extra changes of clothes. If you have a beach umbrella, that is good. My son will not keep a hat on his head, so the umbrella can help keep some sun off of your little ones. Otherwise Lizette covered most of it. Also keep an eye on what the temp will be. By me in June the water is still freezing cold. Have fun!
