What to get a two year old?

Try to give her puzzles. It's the most common toys for a two year old. It can also be educational at the same time. Some of the best two year old gifts like these can really make them happy.

Okay, I'm about to say something that probably isn't going to be too popular.. My daughter will be 2 on March 1st. I REFUSE to buy her Kitchens, Vacuums, Baby Dolls. I hate that the toys out there for girls all seemed to be geared toward making my daughter a homemaker.

My daughter turned 2 today! I was at a complete lost as to what to get her until I saw her reaction when she saw her brother learning to ride his big bike. He still has an old bike from his 2nd or 3rd birthday and she jumped on it and wouldn't get off. I got her a tricyle that has an extended handle that allows me to push her without having to bend down constantly.

Our daughter will turn 2 a few days before yours. We got her a little play kitchen set up from Ikea that so far, she really seems to like. She also received a sandbox from Grandma, which has been a huge hit! We got her a tricycle (a Ketler one that has an unlocking rear axle so we push her for now, as she gets the hang of pedaling) for Christmas that she really likes too, especially now as the weather warms up. Our daughter isn't very interested in specific characters like Dora or Sesame Street characters either. Good luck!

My son just turned two this weekend, and here is what he got: wooden playset, soccer and teeball sets, bubble and sprinkler toys, bath toys, trucks / cars / dump trucks, tricycle, clothes, Elmo costume, and various other toys. They were all a hit! Several of my friends have two year old girls and right now they are really into play kitchens, baby dolls with strollers and cradles, riding toys, sand box toys, and puzzle toys. The toys range greatly, but if your daughter is anything like our kids, they like a variety of indoor and outdoor toys. The kids have a short attention span, especially since mine doesn't watch tv. Aquadoodles, chalkboards, paint easels, etch-a-sketch, and magnadoodles are huge hits too. Good luck!

As a mom who is picky about the toys my kids play with, my advice is to just get her clothes. My son just turned 2 on May 9, and he has plenty of clothes to last him all summer. The way kids go through clothes that is the best thing for them. Also for a two year old baby girl, I recommend A little kitchen or doll with buggy. My daughter is going to be four, but she still loves her doll and stroller.

my son is turning 2 ,22 May and i am still not sure what to buy him either or what to do party wise....... he is a little scared of jumping castle and it turning winter and all we don't know what the weather will be like ,i think that the clothes things he need and the funding of future school fees ect. is a pretty good idea...he still throws lots of things around when tired of playing with them i also agree with a slide or something he can use atleast longer then a year or two...... :)

My daughter will turn 2 30th May, we bought her a Makka Pakka singing soft toy and the story book, she loves to play with her soft toy's and she is crazy about the Night Garden esp Makka Pakka, I told family and friend to give her puzzles or books as it is educational and she don't really have any, or pretty things for her hair or costume jewely b/c she love's that as well, nothing expensive and not to much...........the college fund is a very good idea :)

My son turned 2 on Saturday. We did an early morning African Safari kiddie water-park w/Ferris wheel, and merry go round. Then had dinner w/cake. He absolutely loved his day! As gifts he received; wooden train set, wooden puzzles, FAO giant top, more books and clothes. I bought a Little Tikes 3-in-1 Smart Trike, but poor thing was way too big for it and now have to return it. I replaced it with Kettler Kettrike Jumbo Tricycle with Seatbelt and it is perfect. He is still talking about all the animals and things he did at the Safari. We all enjoyed his day, even the grandparents and niece. He wont stop saying I'm two yrs old...every time he see the #2...it took awhile to try to get him to understand that. Hope we were helpful! (-:

My daughter turned 2 on May 9th. She already got all the babies and strollers and everything for Christmas so I was at a complete loss on what to get her. Then I was at walmart and saw this battery operated Hello Kitty quad. It is smaller than the usual battery operated jeeps and stuff. It cost about $50 and she absolutly loves it. It is a little push button to keep it going. It was a great gift! Maybe you should take a look at something along those lines.

My son was 2 on Saturday, we didn't want to spend a lot of money on crap so as well as his new bed/linen we went for the traditional favourites, Play Doh and Crayons. He LOVES both and has spent ages playing with them. Kids this age don't need fancy computer games or expensive things, the simple things are the ones that encourage their imagination, creativity and stimulate their senses which increases development.

my daughter just turned 2 and we found a very cool leap frog toy called my pal violet. you can program the doll to say your childs name and favorite songs. It wasnt very expensive either $20 dollars at walmart and also we bought her a alphabet fridge phonics by leap frog...she loves to mimic and try to sing her abc's...just some ideas.

Dress up clothes, a child-safe mirror and a trunk to put them in. you can find some GREAT dress up clothes at places like the salvation army stores, or goodwill stores. and they really will spend hours just going through and dressing and undressing in different outfits. some great things are Hats, coats with big buttons, hawaiian shirts, fancy shoes, sunglasses, scarves, fancy dresses etc... If your daughter can't do buttons yet, try replacing them with velcro. That's something that really will keep her entertained for years to come, and you can always add more stuff to it as she gets older!

My daughter just turned two. I got her a baby doll, stroller, and carseat. The doll and stroller were a big hit. Another thing she loved was the coloring mat (not sure of the name) that came with pens that fill with water to write with. It is really neat. The writing disappears as it dries. She really liked that. We also got her some books, dvds, and some outfits. Everything came from walmart. You may just go there and look around, I'm sure tons of stuff will jump out at yah!

Give her a GREAT BIG HUG, KISS AND "I LOVE YOU"!!!! Then, take what ever $ amt you wanted to spend and deposit it into her college fund!!!!!!!!!! That future is much more important than the cheap plastic toy that will end up in a landfil before you know it.

For my daughter's 1st birthday we bought a Little Tykes climber and this year we bought her one of the larger Little Tykes slide. This way she will play with them for years and when I no longer need them I can sell on Craigslist. The grandparents (all) bought her a doll bed, carrier and high chair...she loves her "baby". being almost summer I would opt for some outdoor toys! All kids love bubbles or get a baby pool or a kids sprinkler. We are getting our daughter a tricycle because she always wants to ride on her brothers bike which is way too big for her. lol
You are her mommy... trust your instincts and get her something that you know she'll enjoy, even if it's a little later :)

There are some very extravagent gifts for a 2 year old. Save it for when they do want something bigger and better because a friend has it at school or a neighbour! A touchy feely book or pop up book is always a winner.

mine is 2 on 29 May and we are spoiling her rotten! we figure this is the last b-day where we will be able to go all out without her becoming a horrible spoiled brat! so we're getting her a kitchen unit to go in her wendyhouse (bought 2nd hand off bidorbuy.co.za) and all the pots/pans/mixers/microwave etc to go in it. have also bought her a huge pile of books as she LOVES books. we also bought 2 bubble machines (on sale) for her b-day party which will be a bubble party. the other thing she loves!!! she is really not into anything else and we'd rather encourage creative play and "reading". hope this helps!

Two year olds don't care about what they get for their birthday! We had our daughter's 2nd birthday party Sat. We got her a new pair of sandals so she can see her newly painted toenails--she loves that "toenails! toenails!", some washable fingerpaints and the Fisher Price digital camera for kids--which I was hoping she would like since she always wants our camera "pitchers! pitchers". She does like the camera, but constantly takes her own picture because she can't push the button with her little fingers if it's facing the other way. The camera was about $50.00 and says it is for 3 and up, but she does really like it. They say it can be thrown down stairs and all other manner of craziness and survive. The best thing though was just having other kids over to play. She loved her party. She also likes a little car someone gave her and a grow with baby tricycle my dad got her, even tho her feet don't really reach the pedals yet! I would say don't worry too much--she is only 2 and what she really wants is just to have a good time!

unfortunatly I am in the same spot. my son will be turning 2 may 16 and I am at a loss as to what to get him. He seems to like most if not all toys and generaly all movies. But since I think he has plenty of toys as is Im kinda leaning towards movies and clothes. I guess my best advice would be look around and see what she needs. or maybe even take her to the store with you and see if she points out anything she like. my son loves going shopping.

My daughter will be 2 in a month and for her birthday we got her a new radio flyer tricycle and we went to thinkgeek.com and got her an mp3 player that is made for kids with a hidden volume control and a remote that she can change the channels on the tv with but it only goes to 5 childrens tv channels. We are also getting her a cheap plastic pool for the back yard. I hope this helps!

my little girl will be 2 on the 28th and we got her a trampoline that she always wants to play with at a friend's house. I was concerned about safety but have been happy with the product so far (at least at her house). It is small (52inches) and has netting all around. They have one at toysrus but we ordered ours on-line from bazoonga.

My son gets A LOT of hand-me-downs from my nephew who is a year older...and he is one of those kids that has EVERYTHING. Right now my son is "obsessed" with trains and Mickey Mouse Club House. My mom is going to get him a big wheels. I am also looking at getting him a toy chest to put all of his toys in instead of 100 bins and the toy sprall that has taken over our living room :) Also thought about getting him a tot bed and toys to play outside with.

I have the same predicament. Our two year old is girl #2, so there is really nothing that she needs! We may opt for some clothes or new books and dvds.

My little girl loves playing with dolls and putting them to bed. If you are not fully stocked, that might be a good idea. Also loves pushing them around in their little stroller.
