Hi everyone I have twins and my daughter likes to scream apparently for attention. Why is it that she has to scream her head off every time she gets mad? Any suggestions on how to stop it.

Our son also has a tendency to scream these days, but it is usually when he is frustrated. So...I have taught him to say "help" and when he screams I ignore him until he calms down and then I say "do you need help?" Just this week, when he starts to scream I just look at him, he immediately stops, and says "elp" (for help) and points to what he wants. He has even started asking for help without screaming at all. Maybe we've gotten through that screaming phase? I hope so!

I have the same problem and literally I IGNORE it. She stops within seconds.

i have irish twins, 11 months apart. while my daughter was & still is not a screamer; my son is totally insane & is. i ignore him when he screams. it is really hard sometimes, but i think thats the best way to show them that they dont get their way when they scream. if you brake down & give them what they want, it just encourages it. i'll ignore my son for a few minutes, then i calmly ask him what he wants. if he keeps screaming, i ignore for another few minutes. so far it is starting to work, he stops screaming and either points to what he wants or puts his arms up if he just wanted to be carried. good luck, hope it helps.

I also have twins, one boy, one girl. They scream all the time, but not just when they mad. VIolet is the worst and my older kids think it is funny and egg it on. Vi and my 3 year old Aidan actually have screaming competitions, just for fun. Good luck, I am still working on it myslef.
