Working Mom Working Abroad!

Its been three months since I last saw my two kids ages 4 and 1 yr old respectively. They're back in the Philippines while I'm working here in El Paso, Tx. Its hard for me to be apart from my kids. I missed the first step of daughter and her first birthday. My son is turning four this coming July 29, 2009 and I will miss the chance of being there and celebrate his fourth birthday. My husband is the one taking care of them and managing our farm back home. It is very lonely and sometimes depressing to be away from your love ones. I am hoping that God would give me strength to withstand homesickness, loneliness and sadness. I salute all the mothers who are working hard for their children future. Sacrificing everything just to give a bright future for their children. Hope someone can share how to cope with this kind of situation.

I applaud you for being able to do what you are doing. Are you able to see your children at least through a web cam or anything like that? I personally can't imagine being in your position. I tear up just thinking about being away from my son that long. I hope that you are able to get home soon or at least just to visit.
