Baby Sign Language can be used to communicate with your baby before they can talk. It is made up of simple gestures, similar to waving hello and goodbye and can be used from about 4 months old. Takes the guesswork out of parenting and helps with bonding, we love it our daughter Scarlette is already signing to us for milk and she is only 6 months old!

I joined a website called babysign.co.uk. Its very cheap about £10 for the year. They have videos of the signs, a dictionary and nursery songs. They also have addresses of places where they teach sign for you and your baby! They are also sites which whow you how to make flash cards with pictures so your baby can see the image.. but i think other than that website most of the other info I found was on American sites as they are much advanced than us with teaching sign! Its a shame that English signing is completely different to American signing as they have tons of shows and info for kids!! My son is now 15 months and has been signing for a few months now he can ask for milk, a drink, more, biscuit, he can also sign aeroplane, boat, duck, bird and some others.. its strange and wonderful to see him telling me what he's thinking at such an early age!! I'm also teaching him sign because he's a bilingual baby and will speak later, so this will cut the frustration which happens anyway for all babies, as the more your baby can tell you the less they have to cry for it!! Its well worth it!!

We found baby signing videos for free at our library. And the videos say that babies can start recognizing signs and reproduce them as early as 7 months. We have been showing our son the videos since he was 3 months old and he started signing about 9-10 months old. but his early signs didn't look like how they were supposed to, but you keep doing them correctly and the children make them better and better. Signing is a great tool

currently teaching our 8 month old baby signing - we're doing 'eat', 'more' and 'milk' signs. How long could it/should it take until she signs back? It looks like she's already doing her own version of the 'milk' sign but that could just be me imagining it
