I'm planning my daughter's 2 year birthday in May. I don't want to spend loads of money because God knows, she won't remember it, anyway. I've looked at Gymboree, Children's Museum, jumpy land, playground, pottery place, and much more. For a theme, I thought of Dora because she loves Dora.

What ideas do you have?

My daughter loves necklaces too. She puts daddys necklace on or mine and says necklace. She is so girly and I know she will be even more girly as she gets older. Her sister will take after her as she gets older im sure. Im thinking she will have a princess tea party when she is 3 so her sister will be able to play with her more. It will be awesome.

My son loves buzz lightyear. So we are going to get a Buzz cake. We are having his party in our backyard. Hoping to maybe have a little pool or something, if weather allows. He is our only child too so we might go out and rent a bouncey house thing.

Do you have a backyard that would work? A 2-yo doesn't need anything more than family getting together and eating cake. My children love playing with the gift wrap more than the actual gift, KWIM? I think Gymboree is great for when they're 3 or 4 years old, but before then, it's not really appreciated to its fullest.

By the way, not sure where you live, but Children's Museum can be a bit harried. All the children have different interests and run off to explore. Nobody really stays together.

My daughter and my birthdays are only 4 days apart. So I took an idea from her favorite bed time book and one of my favorite movies. Alice in Wonderland. We are having a Topsy Turvy Tea party. Most of the class of a tea party for me and the parents with the all the funky fun for my daughter and the other kids. I thought it was a good idea, and all our friends love it.

Butterflies, My Little Pony, Barbies, etc are what toddler girls are all about if I remember my nanny days correctly...lol. When I took care of my younger cousin I remember she went bananas over anything with sparkles. :) Now she's into tattoos and older men lol they grow up so fast.

My twin boys will be 2 on May 8th and their big sister turns 7 on May 22 so were having a family party the weekend in between. I think I'm going to make them each a cake themed for their intrests. Parents.com has cute cake instructions that are easy. if it's nice weather I'll do some simple games in the yard. good luck!

For my son's 2nd birthday, we're having a Fireman party. For his invitations, we're going to a firehouse and taking pictures there. Then we got hats and made him a specialty shirt with his name on it and fireman and puppy on it then making a fireman cake. We aren't doing games because he's kinda too little to play them, but we're just having it at the park. It's cheap and there's lots of room for everyone to roam, especially since we rented a covered pavillion.

My daughter is obsessed with the Green Eggs and Ham book (and all of her Dr Seuss books), so we are just doing a simple Seuss theme, a cute Seuss dress from Etsy, I'm going to try to make green egg lollipops (white chocolate and food coloring with friend egg molds) and a striped cake.
No, she won't remember it, but she's our only child and we really enjoy going all out for her when she has a strong interest in something. :)

Also, we do it at a local park, the park my husband and I spent a ton of time walking our dog to when we were dating ten years ago. It has great sentimental value to us, and a fantastic playground with a ton of shade.

My daughter will be 2 on May 26 and my niece will be 1 on June 1st so me and my sister are doing a joint Memorial Day cookout / bday bash at my house. it'll be pretty simple. Mainly about the food. My baby girl can eat!

I am doing my daughters party at a local park, since it is free, I can go all out on the Hello Kitty theme!! Check your local parks that have covered canopies in case of rain...

I went way over board for my daughters 1st B day. We had a Flintstone them and I rented a dinasour bouncy thing. all the kids had a blast. We had other carnival type games. I am not sure where you live, or when the party is, but we did it outside. I would do this again the kids were wiped right out, even after all the treats!
good luck
