Birthday's ideas for my litlle baby girl

My little girl is almost 8 months and I want to start thinking of ideas now, but I don't have a clue either. My suggestion would be to see what her favorite toy is and make that the theme.

we're a transitional green family, so we're going to a huge park with family and some friends so we're providing kites, bubbles, and balls for older kids to play; lots of catered finger food like heroes, sushi, veggies, coffee, lemonade, water of course. we're still deciding on the cake since we don't want to use utensils [all other party stuff is eco-friendly too] so we might do pull-apart cupcakes like we did for my 3yo daughter's party. we got them at whole foods and they were beautifully decorated with a butterfly/flowers theme [her party was also eco-friendly and benefited an environmental center]. my one year old doesn't really show any preference for anything yet, so we don't need a theme but probably something spring related for the cake. have a great party! oh, and we requested no battery, eco-friendly gifts or donations to her 529, and no wrapping.

My baby boy Kai will be one on the 26th of may. He has a blue teddy bear, that he loves. So I am going to make him a blue teddy bear cake 8)

I'm doing the "butterfly theme" since I love butterflys! I'm having a lot of fun finding different things to add to the party stuff, invitations, and goody bags.:)

I'm doing a butterfly theme for my daughter's first birthday on 10 May. I've known for a long time that this is what I'd like to bake for her with pretty pink and purple colours and can't wait to have her party with just a few friends. Even though she's still too little to understand it will be great to take some photos of her behind the cake and show them to her when she's a little older. She might even 'blow' out her candle... she's imitating everything we do....

For someone with boys, I've had a train theme for my son's first birthday and baked a cake which I then put together to make a locomotion and 3 wagons which had popcorn on them.

If you look up (google) Australian Women's Weekly Birthday Cake book... the first one they printed, they have a lot of themes in there.

We are using The Very Hungry Caterpillar for our daughter's 1st bday. We are having a tutu & wings (just like the ones at the end of the story) made for pictures. The invtes are homemade & say "Please Join Us When We Celebrate Our Hungry Caterpillar becoming a Beautiful Butterfly" which will include a pic of her in the outfit. We'll serve the fruits & foods represented in the book. Decorations will be simple, right colors inspired by Eric Carle's lovely color illustrations. We will also serve cupcakes in the shape of a caterpilar & his large circular head will be her smash cake.

I am doing the backyardigans for my little girls first birthday! she laughs so hard when i put that show on, she just loves it, so mostly everything backyardigans and bright colours since there is no actual color scheme. The babies will play there will probably be approximatly 15 kids and i have an episode of the backyardigans taped. The older kids love singing and dancing along with them! :)

My son will be 1 year on the 12th of May. I have decided no themes until he can say "Mommy I want a _______party." I figure there are years and years of parties to come, no need in making things any more complicated than they need to be. Plus this party is really for the adults and not him....he'll never know the difference. We're having a nice get together with family and friends....food, cake, and presents with a few balloons! Hope this helps, enjoy the celebration after all she'll only be 1 once!!

I am doing colors not really a theme. Hot Pink and Lime Green are the colors and the cake will be a watermelon cake.

Molly is my little Mollipop so I thought it would be cute if I did a lollipop/sweets & treats theme. Cupcakes, candy, and cookies galore. Of course, the majority of the sweets and such are for the adults since all of the kids will be around age 1.

im on a low budget so just having something small at home. about 6 small kids - will set up a kiddies table for them. hot chips and chicken nuggets for lunch and small party packs. juice and soft snacks. For the adults, making breyani and cake afterwards. I too did not know what to do but then I realised it will just be a waste of my money to go big cos Skye wont even know what is happening or remember it. my theme is Hello Kitty. Found the cutest invites and stuff. only bought theme stuff (plates, cups, etc) for the kids. For the adults just having plain stuff that matches the colour scheme.

I'm doing a Sesame baby theme for my son Elisha. I found plates with baby elmo, baby big bird, etc. and they are too cute! The store i ordered them from online also has an Elmo cake pan and directions to decorate the cake, so I will probably make that too. I'm so glad it will be nice outside in May so we can have the party at the park. We got picture invitations done at the Picture People that are adorable. can't wait to celebrate!

You'll have plenty of time to do a princess theme or some other copywrited theme. They're only this little once and before long you won't be deciding what theme to go with, she will! I'm doing a safari/zoo theme for my son & I did a monkey theme for my daughters 1st birthday. For goody bags, I bought little monkey beanie's. Then I'm attaching him to a banana with a personalized ribbon around his neck. Theres a lot of cute monkey/safari themed items out there that you could have a lot of fun with it!

My little one is having her first birthday soon as well. I came up with a garden theme and for the birthday cake we are having cupcakes. They are a lot easier to pass out, especially at the park. Each of the cupcakes are going to have a bug on them and surrounded by bio-degradable Easter grass so it looks like they are climbing through it.

We are having a first birthday with a duck theme. We are grilling out and expect about 20 people to attend between the close friends, family, and godparents. Most of the kids will be my sons age which is fine because at 1 they don't really play together anyway. The cake is home-made by a friend I grew up with. A waterfall with pond and ducks. Extra cupcakes on the side. Yellow plates, napkins, etc. and she will be wearing a yellow frilly dress.

We're not really having a party, just lunch with family. But it's going to be Tinkerbell themed... Haylee will be wearing a tinkerbell dress and she'll have tinkerbell cupcakes and decorations. I don't want a lot of people here all at once in case it's too much for her, just close family for lunch then i've asked everyone else that wants to visit just to come any other time of the day except during nap time.

We are doing a water party...we have a few baby pools, sprinklers, etc my niece is having a cupcake party, her mom is baking cupcakes and letting the lo's decorate I think there is going to be older kids and family at hers..hope it helps
