Megan started rolling over front to back and back to front at 3 months. She started crawling and sitting up at 5 1/2 months and started standing up the next week. But, I also have a daughter that will be 2 on February first. I think Megan is just trying to catch up to her big sister.

Before my son could sit on his own I used a boppy pillow for support rather than the bumbo seat. He didn't like being restricted and has always been really active. As others said, babies all do things on their own time : ) My friend's child is the same age as my son and he is much more advanced than her.

Quoting Kathryn:

Quoting Brodie:

My little girl is 7months and she doesnt sit up or crawl.
I'm not going to try to rush it. She has the rest of her life to be moving.
I say enjoy it while he's not moving cos once he's crawling you wont be able to stop him!

AGREED! Let me tell you, the chase is a tough stage... I'm just glad one of mine is moving (or not moving rather!) at a normal rate.

I wanted my little girl to start crawling til I put the Christmas tree up. Lol.

She already tries to pull and grab anything she can reach from her tummy I can only imagine what it will be like once she's mobile.

My daughter is just about 7.5 months and she has been "Scooting" around like an inchworm for over a month now. FAST! But she still doesnt seem interested in sitting up, unless I am sitting behind her? I just figure that shes more of a mover. Shes trying to pull herself up now. I remember my son walking at this stage, so I know she is doing just fine, plus since Ive been through this once, I am not in a big hurry for her to be moving everywhere. :)

I have twins who are 7 months old and my son can sit upright, crawl all over the place, pull himself up on furniture, walk along furniture, etc... He is a handful! My daughter, on the other hand, seems to be getting very frustrated because she is just now mastering sitting, and cannot crawl yet, let alone do the things her twin brother can do. All babies will develop at different rates, even twins!

Aurora is sitting up great at 6.5 months, but making no move to crawl, and I'm in no hurry for her to do so. She can't put herself into a sitting position, but if I sit her on the floor, she'll stay there. I'm not ready to be chasing after her AND my 2.5 year old!

I took my baba to the clinic and to my surprise they said the bambo seat are bad for the babas back because they dont learn how to support their lower back, thats why they dont sit. i went through the same, now im teaching melia to sit properly by herself.

My baby is 7mos. and she is super active. Doesn't sit up (almost but falls over) but scoots around everywhere. I remember my pediatrician saying 7-8 mos. is when they can sit without support.

My little girl is 7months old and already crawling proberly on her knees, sitting up very well, she can also stand up holding on to things trying to walk around the furniture. My little girl is very active though and I always leave her on the floor I believe thats the reason why she is so advance. All babies are different as I have a friend whos baby is 2months older than mine & just sitting up now...Believe you me enjoy this quiet time as I am finding myself running behind her making sure she doesn't hurt herself as she is too quick for me now...

My daughter sits up by herself but she is so active she doesn't stay for long. She pulls herself (scouts) as well but moves very fast lol

My boy is 7 months on the 14th I really wish that he would slow down he can sit he has only been doing that about a week now he can stand up and has been doing that about 3 days and has been crawling for almost 2months now. All babies do it at different rates I just wish that they wouldn't grow up so fast I would be so happy if he was just laying there and rolling over instead of do every thing that he is already doing sa the more they do the more work it is for you and if they are not good sleepers it really makes you tired

Don't worry, all babies have their own timing. :-) My baby girl is 7 mos. old and only sits up, no crawling at all. She'll do it at her own timing, just like your baby boy, and then we will think back of these days where they actually stood still for a while. LOL... enjoy every day with your baby. God Bless. :-)

My son will be 7 months on the 14th and is sitting up well on is own now but isn't crawling yet. He just recently started sitting up and he's trying to crawl so we don't think it'll be long, but I'm not in a hurry for him to do it yet! Lol
