I just had a bad dream ( know weird that a 23 year old is up late at night because of a bad dream...). Here is the thing. Jordan has woke up a few times crying before and I thought it was going to be gas but after I hold him he goes back to sleep. Could it be that he has bad dreams? does anyone know when bad dreams start? my thought was that when he started watching tv things would start to be scary for him, but he doesnt watch tv. Any thoughts?

From a very young age (1 month) my son would whimper in his sleep - he is now 14 months and rarely does is - he also does not watch a lot of TV. I can't imagine what at 1 month old would cause a nightmare but it certainly sounded like he was having one.

i really think they do. my sister has a set of twin boys. one of them when he was younger would wake up every night screaming at the top of his lungs. well after a while we noticed, he's not waking up. he's screaming in his sleep. she talked to a doctor and he says they are "night terrors". basically a nightmare. my 13 month old daughter cries sometimes in her sleep. all i have to do is put her passy in her mouth and rub her back and she's ok. they will grow out of it. my nephew (thankfully for everyone's sanity) has finally started to not have his night terrors. my daughter doesn't watch tv either(i personally think a tv is just an immobile babysitter and i'm not doing that with my daughter!) but like i said, she has her baby nightmares.

I think that they may. My son occasionally screams in his sleep or cries. He doesn't wake up but when I pick him up and tell him mommy is here he calms down and sleeps perfectly fine afterwards. It could be a memory of something scary happened to him.
