Went to Dr's yesterday.... 35 week appt. They scheduled my next appt for 2 weeks and told me they don't want me to go into labor before then (like I have a choice) but that any time after that would be great. Wow!!! 2 weeks!!! getting soooo close. Also, her head is down and they did the strep b test.

My stomach just became sore and is cramping though :(

They told me my baby's position at the dr's appt. Her head was down, but her feet were out to the side, like her side was facing my stomach. Today, i was sitting feeling her and i felt her butt move to the center of my stomach. It's pretty much stayed there since, i'm waiting to see if she moves anymore.

I'm 35 weeks now and my first was born towards the end of week 36 so hubby and I are definitely feeling the pressure now! I keep reminding him taht just because #1 was early doesn't mean this one will be but it isn't helping :p He really freaked today because I was having random BHC all day at work and my lower back really ached--one of my customers is certain I'll have a baby by Monday because the way I moved and acted during the BHC reminded him of his wife whenever she was in labor :p

Oh, and I had a super high cervix with my first.  I had to put my firsts under the small of my back for them to check me when they started my induction (once I was in a hospital bed without stirrups that is).  But they only had me do that two or three times before they didn't need me to do that anymore.  :)

Two short weeks (well for me, up to five weeks for others here I think), and these babies will be ready to face the world and not be "premies".  :)  I am going every week now for weekly sonograms and NSTs because of my gest. diabetes, which is such a hassel.  I have the strep test next week.  Getting there, it is so close!  :)

Just keep in mind that anything up to 42 weeks is still normal, so don't be surprised or pressured if you don't go into labor early. The *average* gestation is 40 weeks, but that means just as many people have their baby early as "late". Trust your body and trust birth :-)

Re: strep B - typically it's just a swab. If you are positive for Strep B, they like for you to have antibiotics during labor to prevent the strep from being transferred to baby during labor.

Regarding a high cervix - that's nothing to worry about either. Most of the time you're high and it is hard to get a good check of it, but as baby gets closer to being born, the cervix lowers and softens. Try to to worry about dilation - some women are dilated to 3 or 4 cm weeks before birth and others do nothing until labor. You can go from 0-10 in a few hours or several weeks. Hopefully your doc won't be the type to pressure you into dilating fast or "else" - induction, pit, c/s, etc. Sometimes docs are very quick to start using medical interventions, like stripping of membranes, break of water, pills to soften the cervix, etc. But more interventions increase the risk of having complications and tend to have a greater likelihood of a c/s.

Try to relax and just know that your body will do what it needs to do when it needs to do it. :-)

Quoting Keela:

What do they do for the strep B test??

You have to put your legs in the stirrup things and they take these skinny things, kind of like the tiny wire bottle brushes. They pushed one all the way back to my cervix (maybe 2) that one was really uncomfortable so remember to breathe. The nurse made a comment about my cervix being far back... makes me wonder if that's going to be better or worse for testing for dilation and labor. They also took one and scraped my butthole. That was shocking. It's not that bad, it's quick, just a little uncomfortable. It was nowhere near as bad as the other tests they did in the beginning that made me bleed. That's what I was worried about.

My stomach has been cramping ,sore and rock hard most of the day for the last three. Everyone tells me its Braxton Hicks and my body is preparing, so I wouldnt worry about that.

I want her in the delivery room along with my fiance b/c she's the only family i have here and i want someone who has been in labor before. Her son is trying to jinx me saying "watch you have the baby while she's gone"
