Can anyone tell me which part of the egg is safe to give to my 9 mth old. I've been giving her just the yolk (scrambled!!), which I had read on the internet was ok to do...but I've now just seen that I should be giving just the whites...confused!!!

the yolk is what they say to try first in the event of allergies that can be from the whites...but we've given our daughter scrambled eggs already...made from the whole egg...and no allergies there, so she now eats eggs once or twice a week. she loves them!!

yolks are fine. After talking to my Dr. she said that you can give the whites and the yolks whenever. Newer studies show that no matter when you introduce them, a baby is either going to be allergic or not going to be allergic. I give my 8 mo. old whole scrambled eggs. My Dr. also advised against giving oat grains (oatmeal + wheat especially) to babies under 9 mos. because of an increased risk of Celiac's disease, which doesn't show up until later in life.

I feed my son the yokes as well, I was told the the whites are a high allergy risk, and you should not give it to them until they are atleast 1 year.

the egg whites are high on the allergy list. from what i've read, folks recommend giving just the yolk, not the whites. so, you're okay!
