I currently drive a GMC envoy, but when my husband drives their is too little space in the backseat so my daughter can kick the seat. We are shopping for a large vehicle as our family plan includes 4 children. We are mainly looking at Toyota Sienna and Honda Odyssey. I have to admit Im a little scared to drive a van because it reminds me of my mom but i think the practicality of it is more important. Id love some feed back on what other moms drive and pros and cons. I am mainly worried about having room for a rear facing car seat.

I find that there is plenty of room in the Sienna. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that you can buy it with 8 seats instead of 7, to stuff more peoples in, but still be comfortable. You can also get a really comfy early thousands model Honda Pilot with an 8seater option too......

I had a 2008 odyssey and traded it in for a 2011 odyssey! They are the best - I love them and would not go with any other. Tons of room in the back for all the kids!

We did not want to go the minivan route either but when we found out our third child is on the way, it was time :p We thought about a SUV with a third seat but then there'd be no storage room for stroller, etc. I test drove an Odyssey and really liked it but it was a bit out of budget right now. We went with a Dodge Grand Caravan and we love it--especially the stow n go feature :) Its great having a place to tuck all the little odds and ends that come with small kids into the floor bins LOL

I've been fighting the minivan lol. We're looking at getting a cross over or a minivan. We just test drove some small SUV's like the Enclave and the Acadia. Then we went over and drove the Odyssey. Hands down, the Odyssey is the better choice. I really don't want to drive a minivan, but they've put so many great features in the new Odyssey (we're looking at the 2011). I like the new body style too. It looks a little less like a minivan. One great feature is that you can get one with 8 seats. My daughter's car seat is huge (she's still rear facing) and so far only fits in the middle of our truck. When we test drove we put it in the middle of the 2nd row of the Odyssey and it fit just fine. You can also slide out the two side seats in the middle row and this allows you to fit 3 car seats in that row. I can't say enough about it and I hate minivans lol. We're looking for the best deal on one right now. I looked at the Sienna too, but just didn't like it as much. Not as many features. If you check out reviews online some will compare the Sienna to the Odyssey and the Odyssey wins every time (in all the ones we've watched/read).
