Tristan came at 35 weeks and 6 days weighing 6lbs 4oz. One day earlier I was sitting on a patio at a restaurant where I worked having lunch. I felt a bit of wetness and then all of a sudden Niagara Falls happened! My colleagues were all in hysterics as I kept gushing water. Luckily my husband had taken that day off work as his relatives were visiting but when I called him to tell him to pick me up he first didn't believe me and then wanted to just meet me at the hospital. He didn't understand what it meant to have your water break.
When he finally arrived (after stopping at the liquor store first!) He was escorted by a running security guard to the door, as I work in a pedestrian only area. It was like the Prime Minister arriving! When I stood up from the table more water came gushing out and I had to pour liquid out of my shoes. This happened each time I stood - out of the car, out of the wheelchair and out of the chair onto the bed in maternity triage.
I was not actually in labour (I think Tristan kicked my water open!) so I had to be induced. I had my epidural when the contractions got bad and my doula arrived during the night. I actually pretty much slept through the entire labour. The next day at around lunch time I was 4 cm dialated so my doctor sent all my family and husband off to eat. One hour later they checked and I was fully dialated! Frantic calls were made to get everyone back in time. While they waited for the baby to drop I went back to sleep. Finally I was woken up and told I might like to push! 15 minutes later Tristan popped into the world. His glucose was low but otherwise he was completely healthy and has been ever since (knock on wood this continues).
My husband says that he should have expected I would have an extremely over-dramatic delivery! It does make for a great story. : )

My first daughter was due September 7, but was exactly one week early, and was born on August 31, 2006. Everything was natural, I was actually woken up at around 2am when my labour with her started. I had midwives and did most of my labouring at home, but had to have her in the hospital only because she 'pooped' in utero (lol).
My second daughter was due May 10, 2009 but she came one week one day early and was born on May 2. She was also a natural birth, labour for her started May 1 at around 930pm. I had midwives for her as well, and was able to birth her at home. It was amazing!!!!!

Born at 41 weeks, I had light contractions for about 3 days before they began to hurt. I went to the hospital on a Thursday morning and they wanted to induce me, but I said no. My water broke around one in the morning, and I got an epidural soon after that. It let me sleep the rest of the night and she was born at 10:46 am

I went into labor a few days before my due date. April 29,2009 that morning i went to the bathroom and my mucus plug fell out. went in that morning to check, i was only 1-2 centimeters dilated. So they told me to walk around to see if that would help labor out i walked around every store in my town nothing helped. finally on may1,2009 i finally went back to the hospital to see if i dilated any further and i was finally 4 centimeters. then i was admitted in to the hospital.then Saturday may 2, 2009 they broke my water because i wasn't progressing, when they did that they found that he had poop. they had me walk around the hospital to see if that would help out but around 10am i wasnt progessing still so they had me start the postent that helps with your labor...i disliked that stuff made it feel even worst and on that night. i like around 6 iwas only 9 centimeters and then they had me start pushing they thought that it would help out the last centimeter but it didnt and my doctor told me that i should get an epidural and i did and i sleep for awhile then around 8 or 9pm i was finally 10 centimeters and they wanted me to start pushing and i was but i just couldnt do it. i did that for a few hours and i couldnt do it. and then theysaid that i should just have a c-section. he was born 12:14am May 3.2009. But after everything i found out that he was sunny side up and he was also positioned weird. But if i decide to have another baby they told me that i would have to have another c-section because i would have the same problem and as much as i wouldnt like to have a c-section, i dont want to put stress on my body or the baby.

I went in to be induced on my due date, May 26. We weren't planning on it, but I had lost most of the fluid around him and it was for his safety. Later, after 8 hours of labor, they realized the contractions were slowly killing him, so I had an emergency c-section. He was born May 27 at 12:51 AM weighing 5 lbs 13 ozs.

my baby was due 1st may 2009 but didnt make an appearance untill the 10th of may. On my due date the doctor booked me in to be induced on the 10th of may incase she hadnt turned up by then. So my due date came and went then on the 9th of may as i was just going to bed my contractions finally started :)
Went to hospital straight away as the concrations were very very painful, when i arrived at hospital i was already 4cm dilated. Decided to go on to the gas and air after 2 hours of strong painful contractions, then 2 hours after that i decided the pain was too much asked for the diamorphine injection :)
A few hours later I was ready to push and fully dilated, so i pushed and pushed but emilys head kept coming and then going back inside. Contractions started to slow down and baby was getting stressed so they decided to get the doctor and emily was born a few minutes later after a ventouse delivery. I found out after that I was not able to push her head out properly because the cord was wrapped around her neck and was pulling her back inside.
She was born on the 10th of may and 11:06am weighing 7lb exactly x

With my 3 year old I went in to natural labor at 39 weeks with sudden contractions 5 minutes apart. It turned out that not only was I never progressing, but the medicine to help me was making my sons heart rate go down. After 15 hours, finding out there was very little water (dry birth) and meconium in the water, and a few tense moments during the night, the doctor gave me one more try with the medicine. When my sons heart rate fell to 46 BPM and dropping fast they flew me in for an emergency c-section. Turned out the cord was around his neck and thats why every time I had a contraction his heart rate dropped. Turned out he was a 9.5 on the apgar score and with a smart little boy now.

When I was going to have my daughter, I was going to have a VBAC, but when I found out she was going to be bigger than her brother I had a planned c-section at 38 weeks and 3 days. She's going to be having her 1st birthday this year!

My daughter Avery was born May 29th, 2009 at 34 weeks, she weighed 4lbs 12ounces. I had her naturally...they still do not know why she was born early. I had no complications with my pregnancy.

My daughter Asiah was born Feb 6 2001 at 27 wks 1lb 9oz had an emergency C section, due to pre eclampsia and my high blood pressure. She was hospital for 2 month. She is a healthy 9 year old today

My Son Andre was born May 1st 2009 @ 37 wks I had a planned C section. He stayed in the hospital for 6 days and he is a healthy little boy today

my daughter was due may 11, and she was born one day early on may 10th. She was actually scheduled to be induced on her due date if i didn't go into labor that weekend. She was only 8 lbs 1 oz, but she was getting big for me since im only 5'4

My first child labour started about 7 weeks before I was due the docyor was able to stop that (thankfully) so then she decided to punish me by waiting until I was 43 weeks preggers (it was a damn long 3 weeks) I was going in for an induction the next day if I had not gone into labour naturally and was in labour for min 27 hours
My second baby was 41 weeks and 6 days with the gel to start induction labour lasted 6 hours
My third and final baby was 40 weeks and 4 days which started naturally and was my shortest labour lasting only 1 hour

May 26th I was 41 weeks and 2 days, i decided not to have a sweep at the last minute so i was booked in to be induced on the wednesday but thankfully went into labour naturally the day before on the tuesday!

with my first she was a week late and we failed a bio-physical, her heart rate wasnt doing what it was supposed to, the placenta was failing.
So i was induced.
epi didnt take.
I had planned on a natural birth at a birth center- which didnt happen.
she was 6lb13oz

with my second I planned a natural birth at a hospital, 5 days before my due date I had a lot of bleeding. I went to see my midwives and it was not my mucus plug. I went for a sonogram and we found that I had too much amniotic fluid and she had turned breech.

i went for a version- they turned her. But said with all the fluid she was going to turn again most likely. I did a fasting test and found I had late onset gestational diabietes. I had a c-section.

I also have pubis symphysis- a severe seperation of the pubic bone and they were concerned about damaging that further.
the section, while very upsetting and very unwanted, went smoothly. My recovery has been good, but I gained a ton of weight and it seems to sit like a shelf above my incision.
She was 9lbs at birth.

Brave lady, 2 in a row like that!! I always give kudos to those of you that can do that.. Although, if mine was sleeping through the night I would love to have another one very soon.. :)

I went into labour exactly 3 weeks early when my water broke in the middle of the night. I thought I had wet the bed because I never dreamed with a first child that I would go 3 weeks early!!! I also did a natural child birth which wasn't all that bad... It hurt, but I was scared of the epidural and the chance of having a section more than anything, so I decided to give it a go... Take it one contraction at a time and all that fun stuff... Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! xoox

hi ,my first son was born at37weeks ,born 9th feb 95, had him naturally about 3 hours in labour ,had contractions 2weeks before he was due 2nd march ,weighted 7lbs 10ozs
my second son was also born naturally, was due christmas eve made an apperance at 37 weeks on 3 dec 2007,weighed 8ibs 10ozs nearly got sent home from hospitail had a bath at 11.00 and by 2.00pm my son was born had the midwifes on the hop they was just on the hand over when he pop out .lol
my third son sorry was also naturally was born at 41 weeks a week late ,so tired used to drop them by 37 weeks ,came into the hospitail 25th may ,midwife told me was 1 centimetre was sent down to observation ward (because of my quick delievery with my second)didnt see much of that ward went to the loo an hour later went back up to the deliever suit, my third son pop out 2.10 am 26th may 2009 sadly my husband miss him being born ,didnt make it back in time ,my son weighed 10 lbs 110zs boy did he hurt but worth it 10 months on .

With my first I was induced 2 days late and finally had her 2 days later. With my second, I went into labor naturally 9 days early after a bout with kidney stones and two amnios to see if his lungs were developed. Then he spent 33 days in the NICU with meconium aspiration. Almost 11 months later he is a happy healthy little boy.

All of my children were natural vaginal births.

My daughter was 39wks 4days. She came after 1 membrane sweep born 26/5 and was 7lb 1oz. I was on the bed on my left side as the doc wanted to check progress. This was a position I never moved from and my daughter was born this way.

My youngest son was 40wks 2days and came after 3 membrane sweeps in Sept 06. He was 8lb. I was on my hands and knees for his delivery and had no pain relief.

My middle son was 40wks 3days and came after 3 membrane sweeps in Jan 04. He was a big baby at 9lb 1oz. I had gas for pain relief and ½ dose of pethadine which made me sick. I was on my hands and knees for his delivery.

My eldest sons (twins) were 38wks 1day and were induced because they were showing symptoms of Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS). They were induced with prostaglandin gel and syntocinon drip and were delivered by ventuse extraction (twin A) and breach (twin B). They were 5lb and 5lb 8oz. The diagnosis of TTTS was correct. Twin A was the donor baby and was born more white than normal. Twin B was the recipient and was more pinky red than normal. Fortunately for us, TTTS happened in the later stages of the pg. Both boys are normal healthy children. Their delivery was the only one I had an epidural for.

I was 42 weeks with my first. I was induced and had no natural progression with labor I never dilated, I had very bad contractions, lots of back pain, ended up have a section my daughter was 9lbs 6oz and 23inches long born October 17, 2006!! With my second I decided to have a section because again I had never dilated. My second was born at exactly 40 weeks and was 8lbs 10oz and 21inches long and born May 20, 2009!

I am a sucker for telling my baby birthing stories!

I was due to have my first on August 8th, 2006. July 19th, my sister's in laws (three of four) came over to help me paint the baby furniture. I started having contractions that afternoon and by time my husband got home they were about five minutes apart. The girls were all excited and we left them to go to the hospital at about 3am (hubby got home at 12am). Hours went by and no baby. The labor wasn't progressing at all and the baby said it was false labor. He sent me home with a sleeping pill and said that I would go to sleep and wake up with out contractions. Only I went home, took the pill, took a shower, and my water broke! He was born at 37 weeks 3 days.

Vanessa was due June 20th, 2009. I went into the hospital on May 19th with contractions. They didn't progress and they backed off some so the doctor sent me home the next morning. I still had contractions, but not all the time. They seemed to be getting worse, but weren't regular enough or painful enough for me to want to go to the hospital (and spend hours and hours there waiting again). May 27th I dreamed that I would go into my doctor's appointment the next day and he would send me to the hospital. That's just what happened too. I was dialated a 4 1/2 and he didn't like all the contractions, so he induced. Vanessa was born healthy and beautiful at 36 weeks 2 days gestation. She was 6 pounds and sweet as all get out.

So, both of mine were born early, but my mother-in-law had 8 of her 9 born late with one of them born nearly a month late and the one due on time was born on his due date.

My oldest was 2 weeks early (weight 6lbs 15oz) and I started labor but the doctor had to break my water after I spent hours walking waiting for it to break.

My 2nd was 36 weeks 7 days (although with the orignal due date I was a few hours early) He weight 6lbs 9 oz and I started labor the night before and didn't go to the hospital until 5 pm that evening the nurse broke my water when checking my cervix

My son was born at 37 1/2 weeks. I went for a check up and they told me that i had preclampsia and they had to check if I was having contractions. Well i was and didn't know it. They put me straight in the hospital and tried to enduce me. Finally at 6:00 the next morning they gave up because i wouldn't dialate pass 1 centimeter and gave me a emergency c-section at 9:30 because of my blood pressure. They tried to do a spinal tap but couldn't hit the right place so i had 7 holes in my back where they tried to hit it. They finally put me to sleep and took him at 10:07 in the morning and he was 6 ponds even and 19 inches long.

My first son was 12 days early and was induced as my waters had partially broken and I was having very irregular contractions. Born in May 2005

My daughter was spontaneous labour, and I was 10 days overdue. I was booked in for an induction that afternoon, but she wanted it on her own terms (just like now lol) Born August 2006

My second son was induced as I was 9 day overdue. He was born August 2007

i was due april 28th but i had induced labor on May 5th, contractions for 10hours with no progress then a C-Section that lasted like 1/2 hour!!! If i ever get pregnant again i am SOOOOOOOOOO doing a scheduled C-section, my husband got to tape the first few minutes of my babies life and i wasn't too exhausted and tired to enjoy his welcome party!!!

My first son was Emergency C-section at 37 weeks due to a rupturing placenta and pre-eclampsia. Born April 28, 1998.
My daughter was past due, and induced on Dec 28, 1999 at 41 weeks.
My little man was a pleasant surprise, and being that his brother and sister were both born on the 28th, we had him induced 2 days early, so he was born May 28, 2009.

I had my first daughter at exactly 41 weeks - she was due Christmas Day 2006 and decided she wanted to be born on a special date...and we went in to the delivery room on New Year's Eve...she was born in the early hours of New Years Day Jan 1, 2007 naturally. My son was born at exactly 40 weeks because my husband and I decided we didn't want to wait so we induced on the due date which was May 25, 2009!!!

Lorelai(1st child) was born at 32 weeks 5 days due to preterm labor after 68hrs. She passed away shortly after birth. She weighed 3lbs 11oz 15in
Madelynne (2nd child) is our little miracle she was born at exactly 37 weeks. I was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia and labored 56hrs. She weighed 6lbs 8oz 19in and is 10mos old now and just the most precious thing we could ever imagine!

My first I was 17 so he was 3 weeks premature and I had already went into labor 2 times before that but they stopped it with a shot.I had placenta previa until 6 months and then was dialated to 2 at 6 months so they put me on meds to stop that too.I had a natural delivery . With my second I was 30 and the pregnancy wasnt as hard i was contracting early so I had weight restrictions but I went into labor the day before my due date and my blood pressure went sky high and my platlets were to low so I couldnt have epideral and when my water broke there was miconium ( the baby pooped in the sack ) so they did emergency c-section .

Matti was a day shy of 40 weeks. On May 8th at 11:30pm my water broke. I went to the bathroom because I was confused and wasnt sure if my water broke. When I sat on the toilet I saw my bloody show was also happening, then contractions started. 6:30am I was 3-4 minutes apart so I went to the hospital. Mattius was born at 3:05pm after 1.5-2 hours of pushing. He was 8lbs 7oz.

My son (May baby) was overdue. My original due date was May 4th and when I went into the OB that day they did an ultrasound and found out that there was fluid being lost so they sceduled an induction for the next morning at 5 am! After he was born the said that he appears to be a lot more overdue than we thought and they must have overshot the original due date. My first one (my 3 year old daughter) was born 3 days before her due date, perfectly healthy! My labor with my daughter was a breeze! Only a half hour of pushing, I had an epidural for both children, with my son however, the epidural wore off right at the last minute at 10 cm right before I started pushing! Right when you need the epidural! He was definately harder to deliver he was MUCH bigger than my first! But of course it was all worth it!

my son was born 20 minutes early, due Oct 12 2006 came on the 11 at 11:40pm, He was 8 lbs 12.2oz. 22 inc long. and my daughter was due May 9 2009 and came 9 days late on May 18 2009, at 6:54 am she was 9 lbs 8 oz and 22 inc long. I was scheduled to go in for induction the next day, but didn't have to wait that long. Both all natural, and recovery with the second was really quick compared to the first

i was 41 weeks 4days over went into labour contractions every 10 mins stright away but was a very slow labour my midwife had told me she was head down from the word go nd when i went over my due date that she was still head down nd ready to come when we got to hospital turns out my midwife had got it wrong she was comeing feet fisrt and had to be born by emg c-section she arrived 17:30 19 may 2009 6lb 9oz

I was 39 weeks 5 days. I had mild on and off contractions starting the day before and went into active labor that day at 4pm. He was born May 28th at 11:40pm. A rather short labor for my first. It progressed very evenly but quickly. Mine was all natural. I went into labor naturally and had him naturally in a birthing center. My water broke around 10:00pm and I was pushing the next contraction. 6 pushes and he was out. It was the best experience of my life. Totally awesome. I felt so good after he was born.

I was 42 weeks and had to have a c-section after being induced 3 times, even then when they did the c-section they had to use the forceps to pull him out I dont know if thats normal procedure but it seemed to me that he didnt ever want to come out.. But mylittle man was born May 14th 8lbs 3.5 ounces at 5:30 pm and is still stubborn :)

40 weeks +6 days also born 8th May. it was also the day before the midwives wanted to do a sweep - i think my baby heard my pleading with her to come out before the midwives got their hands on me!

I had a planned emergency section - I was diagnosed with severe pre eclampsia the day before and they spent 24 hours stabilising both of us
He's 10 months old now and a complete Joy and doing very well!
